Yeah, but, D ... the K-1 is a Full Frame DSLR ... so, it's made for FF DSLR Pentax lenses ... (6 available, as we speak) ...

But, HERE's the incredible part ... WITHOUT adapters ... you can put ANY K-Mount lens on the K-1 ....

You don't get 36MP ... when using the APS-C lenses ... you only get 15MP ....

But, STILL ... that's absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!! ....

Don'tchathink, D?

yes -- i've been using my manual k lenses on my pentax digital slrs for years with great results, no adapters needed -- now that I have my K1 it feels like going home in a way.

Not that I ever saw and I shot a lot of Bronica with Zenza Bronica glass and a ton of Fujica, Fujifilm, and Fujinar/Fujinon medium format glass. Then the Fuji EBC glass came out.

Nikon ate crow!

Tough to beat Fuji glass ... now they've got that GFX 50s ... it's got 'em ALL beat!!!!

Me!! I have a k3 and K1 and my kids have my old k5. I started with a Pentax k1000 (brown body with split-screen focus) that I bought used before my first photo class in college, and I still have that beautiful thing. My husband's old camera is a Pentax ME super, which he had before we ever met. I love my Pentaxes and feel that they've provided great value for the money compared to those other brands soaking up all the attention, and my dslrs have the added advantage of easily taking my old vintage lenses. so yeah... !

One of your pentax's has the pixel shift. The K1. I know the K3II also has it, but it premiered on that body I think, so your K3 does not have it if I am right?

However, my question to you is what you think about the Pixel Shift. I am interested in using it for a High Res capture with a Macro lens, to sub for a scanner. The High Res, Macro lens, and bellows with slide attachment should yield a far superior image over the poor scans one gets on flatbed scanners. I have done this with my Olympus EM5 Mk II to get a 50 Mb image in the sensor shift mode (8 captures blended together) And now know I will never buy another flat bed scanner, and probably pass on drum scans as well.

???????

Kuzano ... I think "Pixel Shift" in a Pentax is only in the K-1 .... although, now Sony has adopted it in several models ...

The K-3 and K-3II ... both employ Sensor Shift Stabilization ... is that what you meant? ....

I know the K1 has it (don't think the k3 does) but from what I understand of it I doubt I'll take advantage of it. It seems especially useful for people taking landscapes or doing architectural / product photography. The tech seems really cool but it also uses a lot of room on the cards. I know SDs are huge these days and the cameras have two slots -- just seems more tech than I need. Or is it ????!

Current is K-50, had a K-X, film K-1000 and another semi automatic film camera that I don't remember the name of (that was a service anniversary present, still have it but is in a closet somewhere). Only one don't still have is the K-X, it started having shutter problems and was not worth the cost of fixing (and the K-50 was on sale).

All Pentax D-FA and FA lenses cover full frame on the K-1. These are the ones currently in production according to the Ricoh US website:

smc PENTAX D-FA Macro 50mm F2.8
smc PENTAX-D FA Macro 100mm F2.8 WR
HD PENTAX-D FA 15-30mm F2.8 ED SDM WR
smc PENTAX-FA 31mm f/1.8 Limited
smc PENTAX-FA 35mm F2.0 AL
HD PENTAX-D FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR
HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR
smc PENTAX-FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited
smc PENTAX-FA 50mm F1.4
HD PENTAX-D FA★ 70-200mm F2.8ED DC AW
HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW
smc PENTAX-FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited

So I make it 12 FF lenses. I believe you meant no harm in under reporting the number of lenses available, but let's not give the other manufacturers more ammunition in their arguments against an absolutely great Pentax camera.

Best wishes.

Yup ... I like the K-50, too, John .... especially, as it actually has a RAW switch - right on the side ... no hunting thru menus !!!!!

The six was in reference to the lenses made for the 645Z - I believe ... not sure ... anyway ...

These are ones made for the K-1 .... right, I ?

And, then when you add in the APS-C lenses (made by both Pentax and 3rd parties) there's gotta be more like 50 (or more) ....

Thanks for compiling this list, I ....

I bought my first Pentax film camera in the mid 60's and carried it all over Europe when I was stationed there in the Air Force. I hand carried it
home because I didn't trust it to my shipped baggage. I used it until the late 1990's. I bought a Pentax K2000 and used it for several years
and took some great pictures. I did change to a Nikon because I could get a 300mm lens. The camera still works great so I gave it to my
grandson to use in a school photography class. Pentax makes great cameras.
