Sorry I have been MIA and can't stop to comment on each and every. Some terrific bird photographers out there. I do have a few more. The first is very fitting for Veterans Day - this is a monument in South Portland, ME, dedicated to the Liberty ships and those who built them - very close to this spot. Gull took off just as I clicked the shutter. We have bluebirds who stay year round - not many years ago they were very scarce due to use of pesticides. They are fun to watch, difficult to capture, quick, and just beautiful. Mrs. Bluebird looks so sweet!

I never get tired of bird pictures. Here are some more from SW Florida. The first pic are three ibis - note the feather floating down between them. The second to last pic is of a brown pelican landing in the water with anhinga looking on. The last pic is two birds who forgot to get out of VA before the snow arrived.

Lovely. I especially like that last one.

Since that one looks OK I thought someone might enjoy the Peregrine Falcon that was enjoying dinner on the cliff above the beach. Near Scripps Pier at La Jolla, CA.

I found a misplaced Hummingbird image and I hope it's not to late to share. When I learn to use this site I will be able comment more on specific entries, but for now they are all great and I appreciate all comments that I have received from you folks!!

One last submission before time runs out. I shot the red-breasted woodpecker yesterday when it harvested a seed from a Christmas palm tree. The pelicans were fishing at the beach.

Nice action shot of the woodpecker.
