Beautiful, Sherry. We have a lot of Milkweed going here - 6 different species. Milkweed is required as a larval host plant for Monarchs, of course. For nectar, we have noticed that they have a strong preference for Joe Pye weed. Even when they have dozens of other choices they will all be crowded in on the Joe Pye. I think Sweet Joe Pye is native down your way. It is really easy to grow.

Angela was kind enough to send me some milkweed seeds and I will be joining the effort to Save Our Monarchs! I will definitely add Joe-Pye weed to my list of nectar plants to grow. Weeds are one of the things I seem to be really good at growing!
