No! Pita if ask me. Keep in bag. Replace on lens when cleaning up after a shoot, sometimes at home.

I put it in my pocket now. I had bought a tether from Ebay but it broke the second time I used it and the cap fell to the ground. I am glad I heard it and figured the pocket works good enough.

I tried one after I lost a cap (found it under car seat). It had a string with a adhesive pad the fastened to the cap and could be fastened to the camera or strap. After the first couple of uses, I hated the damn thing and was not unhappy when it got lost! As previously pointed out, it is always in the way especially if you are shooting down. I now put it in a back pocket that I don't use for anything else or a jacket pocket with a zipper.

Here's the thing, though, JR ... ALL pockets, eventually, acquire lint (even those with closed flaps) ... so, unawares of the accumulated debris - you shove the cap back on your lens, and - Presto! ... next time you go to use it - you've acquired a deficiency!

Untethered. I stick it in my back jeans pocket. I always carry lens cloths and microfiber in my camera bag so I give the lens filter a quick wipe when I uncap and when I recap. Simple and works for me.

You could leave it in the camera kit locked in the car, but that makes the cap rather unavailable unless you carry the kit all day, and I refuse to do that. I pick the lens I think I'll need 18-135 or 70-300mm and depend on the lens hood when I'm out prowling around.

Good topic,I was thinking about that recently. In my pocket but sometimes I am so busy I lose my cap. So I always bring an extra one. I can't tether it because I also shoot video.

No. The last thing I want is something dangling around off my camera. I put it in my pocket. When I'm done photographing, I take it out of my pocket, blow any small amount of lint off of it and put it back on the camera lens.

I generally put mine in a pocket or leave it in the camera bag. If in a pocket I haven't failed yet to blow it off and check for debris before putting it back on the lens. I have never let mine dangle from a cord attached to anything. I sometimes find dangling things close to a camera somehow find their way into my photograph.
