Jerome isn't a ghost town--yet.
Yes, that is on the list!

Go to the nearby ghost town of Jerome.
And have lunch at The Mile High Cafe!
BTW, the really beautiful photo you posted from your previous trip would have also made a great 3-D shot!
If your new photos in Sedona can equal the older shot you included you will bring back some winners.
Don't tell the people that live in Jerome that it is a ghost town. It is an old copper mining town that has become an artist colony. A lot of good photo ops. Up at the airport in Sedona is a great place to get overview shots of the community and surrounding country side.

There are so very many awesome sights from south of Sedona all the way up Oak Creek Canyon Road and off the beaten path left and right it would take me weeks, no months to feel I'm done. I've camped several spots around Sedona in the past and shall return for it's a magical experience. Enjoy it all.

Took this photo in Sedona a few years ago. Looking forward to going again next week.
Any suggestions on where to go take photos? I don't know the area well & any suggestions
would be appreciated.
This is an gorgeous shot!
As I remember from when I was there, just about every turn in the road, doesn't matter which road, has great photo opportunities! You're going to have a lot of fun!
There are good books describing hiking trails. They give good directions, catagorize by difficulty, etc. Do not miss Red Rock State Park, easy hike to the senic views.
I would second Oak Creek Canyon and Jerome (used to get great cinnamon donuts there). If driving take 89A to get there, my family would use this cutoff from US66 or I40 to avoid the low desert. Would stop the first night in Prescott. Then rejoin I40 to go cross country to Indiana and Ohio and family.
Outstanding image, Photolady2014! Sooo beautiful!
