Took this photo in Sedona a few years ago. Looking forward to going again next week.
Any suggestions on where to go take photos? I don't know the area well & any suggestions
would be appreciated.

Beautiful shot.

If you're not a hiker, I'd suggest one of the Pink Jeep tours, perhaps one of the more rugged ones that go further into off-roading.

Take a jeep tour up Schnebley Hill Road (don't try it in a normal car!). The scenery is awesome! Get some shots of the chapel in the rocks. Downtown is quite quaint and there are some interesting shots possible.

Drive down to Crescent Moon Park to photograph Red Rock Creek Crossing. It is the most photographed location in the Southwest US. Go early in the day midweek. I spent about 1 hour waiting for clouds and light to be perfect one December. Five minutes after my first shot, a busload of Tourists descended on the scene, tromping over everything.
Drive up to Airport Mesa for a beautiful overview of the terrain.
In Oak Creek Canyon, there are numerous locations.

Here's a great guide online: https://loadedlandscapes.com/photographing-sedona-arizona/

I found Photographing the Southwest Vol 2 by Laurent Martres to be a great place to start.

Jerome isn't a ghost town--yet.

By the time I am finished you you may be sorry you asked. lol I really enjoy Sedona. Not sure when you plan to visit but if the mountain passes in Flagstaff and beyond its it

worth the trip. A section of route 66 is nearby. Lots of period neon signs and old buildings. We stopped at 50's restaurant and had fries and gravy, a green river and a greasy

hamburger. All I needed was my first car. A '56 Crown Victoria. Not far from here was the Palatki Heritage site. It is a archaeological site of cave dwellings and pictographs.

another interesting monument is Montezuma's Castle. It really isn't a castle at all. It's a prehistoric high-rise used for six centuries. It is a 20 room cave dwelling. Both Cathedral

Rock and Castle Rock are both great photo ops. Go to Red Rock State Park and you can get a reflection of Cathedral rock in Oak Creek at twilight. If you get up early you can

photograph the hot air balloons flying over the desert. Do you like architecture? The Church of The Holy Cross is worth seeing. It does not look like it was built. It looks more

like it grew out of the side of the cliff. how about a glass of wine/ The Verde Valley Wine Trail has around 30 vineyards all in the same general area. Shopping, go to

Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village. Did I mention the Grand Canyon? You can take a shuttle or drive there for a day trip. We took a shuttle and it dropped us off at the ticket

office. The Verde Canyon Railroad has both open and enclosed cars for their canyon tours. We chose outside so we could take pictures. I could go on and on but this is a

sample of things to do. Good luck and have a great trip.

That's a beautiful photo you posted. Lots of good suggestions. If you like day hikes, there are many around Sedona - Boynton Canyon is one well-known one. Oak Creek State Park is another. These will get you up close and personal to the red rocks!

Don't miss Coffee Pot Rock. It's a short trail in town. Do the West Fork of Oak Creek. You can go as far as you like. You'll see lots of good stuff!
