Okay, you've brouht out the kid in me again! First family TV was a 1949 RCA 12" screen on which I remember watching all the aforementioned TV shows. The lineup of Doodyville characters included Howdy, Buffalo Bob, Clarabell, Dilly Dally, Mr. Phineas T. Bluster, Princess Summerfallwinterspring, Flub-a-Dub, The Inspector ("America's #1 Private Eye"). The original native American character was Chief Featherman, later replaced with Chief ThunderThud, of the Tinka Tonka tribe. When the show originated on TV the stage setting was a circus theme, later made more generic.
Most people now know that Clarabell and the later Captain Kangaroo were the same actor, Bob Keeshan.
Years later as a teacher, I learned that one of my teaching colleagues had worked his way through college in NY by being an assistant on the Howdy Doody Show. His job was to keep the kids in the Peanut Gallery entertained before the telecast began.

I used to know what each weekday’s theme was, but have forgotten the matchup. There was a Guest Star day, Roundup/Rodeo or Western day, Circus Day. That’s about all my memory can handle. However, everyday was Annette day.❤️
Oooooh...Annette. I think she hastened a lot of male baby boomers' entrance into puberty!

During a brief period when I was very young Howdy Doody, The Micky Mouse Club and Superman occupied a good bit of my time. Not relative to how much TV kids watch today, but still a few hours a week. Of course there was also Sky King, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Cisco Kid, Kukla Fran and Ollie, Romper Room, Kit Carson, and many others were on as well.
You forgot one....HiHo Silver, away. The Lone Ranger with his sidekick Tonto (1949-1957)
And add The Adventures of Beanie, Winkie Dink and You (TV's first interactive show), and the Saturday staples of Kit Carson, Wild Bill Hickock, The Rangerider, Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Annie Oakley, Space Patrol, Captain Midnight, and a show whose name I cannot remember, but starred Buster Crabbe and his real life son Cullen "Cuffy" Crabbe, and set among the Foreign Legion in Africa. So many others do not come to mind at the moment.
Years ago Howdy and company preformed at our local TV station. I remember a bunch of us kids getting into my friends Dad's big station wagon. Six or seven of us in the back, no seat belts and back window down.
That was the good ol' days. We had 3 TV channels, all shows were black and white and the stations went on at 9AM and off at 9PM.

We didn't have TV at home when I was growing up.
My parents only purchased one when I left home to start work.

You know, even as a kid in the late '50's and early '60's I thought Howdy Doody was kinda lame. Now the Mickey Mouse Club...that was real entertainment! Didn't each day have a theme? Seems to me Wednesday was Sci-Fi Fi or Fantasy Day...my favorite.
With Annette and Darleen, every day was fantasy day. 😜😬
Ahhh----Darlene. For some unknown reason I liked her best. I wish Disney channel was worth watching again.
Anyone remember Winky Dink and the transparent "sheet" that went over the TV screen so that you could help Winky escape from trouble? All you needed was a crayon (and, of course, to remember to put that sheet on the TV screen before you started to draw!).

Loved Sky King!!!
Just last night was trying to explain Sky King and Sea Hunt to my slightly younger wife!
In NYC back when I was a kid, there was a song we sang on Saturday mornings. "It's Howdy Doody time, it's not worth a dime. So switch to Channel nine and watch Frankenstein."
