I love the simplicity of your compositions here, and they're both wonderfully done. If I had to choose one over the other, it would be the first. I don't find the sun distracting, I think it adds to the composition, and the tree is more interesting looking.

Beautiful set. I like the first one best. It could be cropped a bit to remove the sun and move the subject to the right for a little stronger rule-of-thirds.
