Being new to digital and doing PP I purchased Photoshop Elements 15. Now I need instruction on using it. Can anyone suggest a book that is written in terms that are easily understood (I have thought possibly Photo shop for dummies?)
Thanks for any help - all is appreciated.

I've wasted too much money on books, including "Dummies". YouTube videos have been far more helpful.

Video is fine and I use both video and the book version. I use video to decide if I want to purchase the software and it has saved me money in the past and a book if I want to take my time and really get into a subject. It's nice to have a book as a quick reference and you can learn the topic at your pace not the presenters when you are working on a project. An index is an invaluable and quick tool when you forget how to do something. Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are very different programs. The best thing is to use all the sources available.

I have a big thick book on Photoshop. Virtually useless. The videos can be stopped and started and viewed at will and include the same photo that the instructor is working on. Lynda is clear understandable and comes in short segments. I get Lynda via my local library for no charge.

I recommend Tony’s Book which has hours of video that goes along with it. Best of both worlds. Book and Video instruction.

That makes no sense. How can it be easier to NOT see what is going on?

The simple answer is: People learn differently. What works best for you may not work for someone else. The "right" approach is the one that works for you.

I'm pretty sure every single human learns better if you show them rather than if you tell them.

That is what I like about Tony's book. It's called a video book. Photoshop CC Essentials for Photographers: Chelsea & Tony Northrup's Video Book

There are many available. However, before doing that, open PSE 15 and click on Help (top). Inside are quite a few areas you might try before a book. YouTube is also available. Just use the YouTube search and you'll find tons of material.
Good luck,
Mark

I second those suggestions.
