If it were only that simple. Hunting is not the problem (IMHO). Poaching is a serious problem. Also, Botswana's ban on hunting may cause it's own serious problem in a few years. Elephants are migrating there and they now have over 200,000 which is way above the carrying capacity of the land. Eventually they will destroy all the trees (their main food source) and there will be a population crash.
But the arguments are very polarized. We are lucky here in the states to have hunting regulated to best manage game populations.

looks like we were in the same area in Africa as we also saw the deceased elephant in the water. What a fantastic trip it was
