Nice! The Vivitar wide and fisheye lenses are better than I thought they would be. I haven't been impressed as much with the telephoto but maybe I haven't worked with it enough.

Wow I'm , sorry I have to say something cellphone people must have low expectations , I use my phone for what it is designed to make phone calls . I mean it's out of focus and nothing is sharp .really .

If I were trying to get that shot with my iPhone 7+, using ProCamera, I would have preset the shutter speed to 1/250 and locked focus on where I expected the runner to be before the runner appeared. I refuse to keep a crappy shot, cellphone or no.

Depth of field on a cellphone , don't be foolish.wide angle lens the wider they get the deeper the depth of field .The longer the lens the shorter the depth of field . But this implies something somewhere in focus . In this image nothing is . You can get better images from a pinhole camera having no lens at all in the natural since the hole is the lens ..

That's because it ain't a dslr shot.. thing is it was taken on an ANTIQUE 7 MP PHONE 15 feet during a race, further altered to do continous mode 10 frame bursts which happened to be around 1/400 that captured the flash kid off the ground and further outfitted with a lens never intended to be used on a phone.
The point is that it was not done with a dslr but with an phone far outside it's selfie range and stock cababilities. Which is outstanding for an old phone. And I like old phones.

Yes but the crappy shot was done on an antique 7 mp phone that has no where near the capacity of a new iphone 7 and the shot was lined up in front of the finish line which is revealed I'm other parts of the series . .
Such live shots, crappy or not, are more likely to be captured with a cellphone instead of a dslr because the phone is already on scene .
I find a flying kid ..levitating off the ground .in a flash costume ..taken live during a race rather interesting. So sorry it offended your iPhone and dslr sensibilities.

That's the point I would be carrying my camera. I ALWAYS DO . My cell phone WOULD be in pocket waiting for you know a phone call. My camera goes were I go that's why they call me a photographer...By the way the the best cell phone doesn't come close to the cheapest DSLR including an I phone...

You might be also be interested in the
" kodak 37mm retinar wide angle .6x "
This was also in my collection of cellphone experimental lenses.Inexpensive on Ebay and better image quality (Assuming it's properly focused and not shot from the hip live during a race by a professional ugly hog critic.)

I'm not a critic I have spent the last 7 years printing for pro photographers on a 44 " Wide printer and and a small Canon pro 9500 . I have had to explain to hundreds of excited I phone user's that I can't print larger than possibly a 16 x20 off their cell phone and will look more like a painting than a photograph. When the look at 24 x36 and 20 x50 s and larger in the gallery and birds and animal true to life .They don't understand that a 12 megapixel cell phone megapixels are not the same as 12 dslr megapixels. .The difference between hamburger and steak. I am not mean about it , but have to spend a hour explaining to them why ....

You are absolutely correct.
But many people still do not own a dslr and a $1000 to $10,000 in lenses alone...
Although many enthusiasts are picking up the $600 entry level kits
BUT everybody has a phone.
And those phone cameras can be improved with a few accesory lenses and apps easily carried (as well as incorporating sage shooting techniques offered by vocal UHH members !)
There is a sub cult of people interested in photography with cellphones just out having a lot of fun.
Yeah cheap dslrs are better .. found a 6 mp canon 300d at a thrift shop COMPLETE with 15-50 lens charger and everything for $35. It certainly does capture better images than the phone. I Slapped on a 50 -250mm from KEH and love it except for the archaic menu interface ..

A pictures worth a thousand words.. show them the difference and maybe you'll sell some cheap used cameras along with the prints . .
Im getting a nikon d7200 and Sony nex7 because I'm beginning to comprehend what can be accomplished with better cameras. Cellphone photography was the gateway.
