Not bad for a cellphone..
Now that is what I am talking about . I feel photograph is a profession and disciplined it takes learning and reading and mentors , was printing black and white images at 17 in 1971.And became an apprentice wedding photographer from a group of 20 not because I was any better but simply did not bullseye shots go figure . It is just that corporation's push their cell phones on kids and unsuspecting adults that spend more money on their cell phone and justify the purchase because now I don't have to buy that camera I want . Until they find out later the size of the output is small ..

If I were trying to get that shot with my iPhone 7+, using ProCamera, I would have preset the shutter speed to 1/250 and locked focus on where I expected the runner to be before the runner appeared. I refuse to keep a crappy shot, cellphone or no.
Yaddah yaddah yaddah
The kids flying !And he's wearing a flash costume!
It's a keeper!
The best part is..none of the pro shooters hired to cover the event came up with anything close to this. They completely lost the moment.

I'm pleased to report that many privilidged youth in Hawaii are running amok capturing images with kit dslrs. Photography is enjoying a resurgence!!
But you have to start somewhere.
For some, the introduction to this wonderful world of photography begins with a phone camera.
And for the privileged adults that are obligated to spend another thousand dollars to make phone calls and "do photography" with this year's latest greatest most up to date phones .. well how nice for them.
I'll stick with the off contract, antiques they turn in that get resold on Ebay..
Best wishes
We thought about that with , with small photo stores going out not a safe business model , there is no money without volume . We print and post process. Most of the base customers are pros with , the type talked about here. Sorry I didn't quote .Pictures worth a thousand words.

It occurs to me that it would be so easy for you to make 2 posters blown up to the desirable size with captioned text; Positioned right next to each other at your order taking station.
One taken from a cellphone
the other from a dslr (or whatever)
showing the image degradation/pixelation that's going to happen with the enlargement..
If you want to include a paragraph about the importance of sensor size vs pixels.. well there go
You don't have to waste your breath explaining that their phone shots are NOT going to turn out to be movie poster quality..
(It might also prevent needless refunds from Birthday party parents and other events who didn't believe you BEFORE they insisted on placing their poster orders)
Take Care.

Actually you didn't have to say anything and you obviously aren't sorry. This is not a critique section. Critiques should be limited to those who asked for one. It's in the forum rules at the top of the forum page.

We never had anyone dissatisfied with our services . Everyone was happy with what we printed and scanned and fixed old images we sold our images it was mainly a gallery of pro photographers . We have print services for Grafic artists and watercolor painters , oil, acrylic, we shoot , their work and reproduce it on gallery wrap canvases and papers also . And print local photographers work for art shows . Most shot on a 40 megapixel Pentax 645d and I now use a Nikon d810....

Happy to know of your sucess. I got the impression from reading you that you often had to endure many cellphone enthusiasts who wanted movie theater sized quality posters but didn't understand that wasn't going to happen - or why not.

First, thanks for citing the rules and for the defense. I was sorely tempted to retort back:"that one might simply move on to the next photo without saying anything at all if one wasn't moved in a positive way."
Whatever the quality of the picture, two different 37mm cellphone enthusiast lens users were able to compare notes.; which is a good thing.
The enhanced capabilities of an antique device were demonstrated .Yes even with enhancements the antique galaxy is no match for the legendary iphone 7.
In the end, I've learned some pros don't like any motion blur at all or cellphone cameras either.
EVEN IF
the image of a genuine levitating subject
gets captured on a phone-
at the right place-
at the right time-
(Especially since there was so much chatter last week about why UFO pictures are always blurry).
Many members may be relieved to know that my forays into cellphone photography are ending .
I will soon be focusing on Bokeh portrait work, nightscapes and stitched panoramas with "real" cameras and lenses .
Simply because I'm inspired and awed by the work of many of the very accomplished photographers on this site.
Not bad at all, glyphtrix! In fact, it's good! :)

Thanks. I do like it.
It's a capturing a real moment. It wasn't altered or processed. There's a tiny bit of motion blur on the forearm, both feet are off the ground, the subject's having a good time! Then there's that costume.. demonstrating what the movie charecter would be doing on the big screen: flying with a whole lot of cinematic CG blur added..
Can't beat it..
(and not one of the pros caught it)
Sure wish I could learn how Briace took those UK night shots !
That's some photography.
I'm just happy to be able to post alongside masters like that!! It inspires me to try more things.
