A fool and his money are soon parted. For that kind of money you could have moved up to medium format digital with over 50 MP in a 33x44 mm sensor.
Come back when you can show us a demonstration of the improvement with the D850 over the D810 - when you are ready to put up or shut up.
Until then you have no credibility - LKP.

selmslie - You're rather thick. What MF does 9 FPS? What MF has high ISO? What MF has a dozen or so other features that come with the 850. I suggest you read the reviews and the spec's. Then you'll see what a dumb suggestion you made. Apparently you know little about photography, but you seemed determined to prove it over and over. Go back to your P&S, you're not competent to run with the big dogs.

Hell, if the LKP hat fits, wear it. I didn't say everyone is a LKP, but people like Gene, Hayden, Steve... certainly fit the bill. You'll find a couple of my pics on UHH.

No. Not a couple. Those are hardly impressive. A GOOD sample of your work. You opened your mouth, called a LOT here LKP.....now man up to it, friend.
Why do people argue over brand x vs brand y?
It is so frigging pointless.
Get off your a$$ and go make images, and quit trying to TELL everyone, "Mine's bigger than yours..."

Mine is a bit bigger than yours as you have the M4/3. I am sure I am not as good a photographer as you are though.

With all due respect Selmie. Although I myself wouldn't buy any cameras Dan bought (D750, D810, and D850) I think all those offer a lot for the money so I wouldn't call Dan a fool. I think a lot of people buy the same, I can't say they are fools although they could call me fool as I bought the camera with very low pixel count.
I was referring to the total investment he claims to be making in two bodies without knowing if he will be able to see a difference in the result to justify the cost. He's putting all of his eggs in the same basket.
A lot of people here buy high resolution cameras and then handicap them with low resolution zoom lenses. That's misguided. If you want to use a high resolution sensor then you should mate it with a set of high resolution prime lenses. But then you are getting into some real money. The good lenses can each cost as much as the body - and may have manual focus. A medium format digital system would be a better investment.
Once I bought my 24 MP bodies (D610 an A7 II) it did not tale me long to see that my excellent Nikon, Tamron, Leica and Zeiss prime lenses would not support more pixels. They are about at their limit. But they all work fine on my Df and film bodies. Besides, there are diffraction issues that can't be overcome with high megapixel small format systems.
I don't have money to lavish on MF digital. When I want big prints I just use my MF and 4x5 film systems.
As for whether Dan is a fool, there is plenty of other evidence of that in his posts.

Please show me a picture you took that required more than 3 fps.

GT car racing would be nice at 7FPS or faster.

I don't
need 9 FPS or high ISO in the same camera where I want high resolution. That's why I have more than one small format body and larger format cameras. Each has its advantages.
I would not own an amphibious or flying car. I don't carry lumber and bricks in my sports car or drive my luxury car on the beach. For that I have a Jeep.
If you buy a camera that is a jack of all trades and master of none you leave no doubt which of us is a bit thick.

Ha-Ha-Ha.... "my well used 750's and 810", and no images posted here or anywhere else to prove what you claim. Show some actual, real photographic proof of what you are saying and maybe then someone might believe your claim. Until then, all it is is an unproven claim on your part. ...
We have seen no evidence that he has ever told the truth about his own images. Until he demonstrates otherwise, he is a fraud. For all we know he has been lying throughout all of his posts.
He has posted only a single image with intact EXIF information that indicates it was taken with a Sony DSC-RX10, 20 MP. The only other image seems to have been cropped to 25 MP from a larger sensor but there is no evidence that it is his own image.

The Sony A99II will do 12 FPS.......

Selmslie - You're getting dumber and dumber as this post goes on. 1) I never posted any pic taken with an RX10. 2) There is no MF camera in the price range of $7000 that comes even remotely close to the 850. 3) You don't know anything about MF (I use Hassy's.) 4) You're ignorant amateur who knows practically nothing about photography and yet you expect me to take the time to prove to you someone else's quote. Go out and do your own research, I'm not your Pa (thank the Gods), and I don't feel required to guide some dummy through life.
Here's the original quote: "Offering a compelling balance of size and speed, the Nikon D850 is the best all-round DSLR camera that we've ever had the pleasure of reviewing. This is really the one camera that can do it all, from landscapes to action, reportage to weddings, the D850 handles it all with aplomb" (Photographyblog.com). --- Read the quote a couple of times, then go out and disprove it. Perhaps with one of your film cameras.

show quote)
1) You did. See
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-31174-17.html#3217914 The camera model is identified in the EXIF information.
2) There is the Pentax 645Z 51.4 MP at $7000
3) I have 2 Hasselblads and a Rolleiflex. I used a Mamiya RB67 before I got the Hasselblads and the 4x5 view camera..
4) You have no idea what you are talking about.
I guess that makes you dumber than me.
I don't care what some reviewer I have never heard of says about a camera and I certainly don't trust your hearsay "evidence".
I don't have anything to disprove.
You still need to prove that you are not a liar and a fraud.
Maybe someone's name should be changed from "Dan De Lion" to "Dan De Liar".

Well thats a confirmed lie. Now, your body of work? No portfolio to be seen? No webpage at all? How can you say there are LKP when you have NOTHING to show for?
