Everyone knows that Robins eat, mainly, earthworms and fruit from the trees...except my non-conforming Robbie. It all started with casual daily visits to my birdbath that is attached to the same deck rail that I use as my bird-buffet. One cold wintry day when about the only available food was the dried fruit on the Bradford Pears, my Robbie decided to try some of the "free-and-easy" seed mix. Initially, he was a little leery but he quickly found that they were pretty good and so was the suet! He has become so adventurous that, when I leave the door open, on occasion, he will slip into the house...I guess he wants to eat from our dinner table now.

Very nice shots of your friend, Bob. He is dressed for dinner with his tailored gray jacket and rust colored shirt so I think you're right about his intentions.
That's just to cool, Great shots also!!!!!
Excellent shots of your little bobbing friend, Bob. From the sounds of it, you may have to start charging him room and board.

Excellent series Bob what a beautiful bird. All spruced up to make his entry for dinner! Enjoyed your intro very much. We have a male blackbird that is quite tame and if the back door is open he will come in to eat Ted the cat's food.
A delightful bird and a delightful post, Bob!! Absolutely love it, and your images are beautiful!

Very nice set of images and equally well written narration, Bob !
Love that #1 !
I don't believe that it pays to be very rigid in our thinking about the feeding habits of birds and animals! We have several wild rabbits that on many days meet me around the bird feeder and beg for food, as I usually spread a small amount of a mixture consisting of small seed, black oil sunflower seed, and shelled whole grain corn directly on the ground and they seem especially fond of the black oil sunflower and the whole grain corn. When I was a child we raised a wild rabbit that used to beg for fried chicken, and I recently read an article in a wildlife magazine about deer eating the eggs from bird nest that they could reach and have also read that cattle will also feed on them!!

Great shots of your friend!
Enjoyed your story and the others' stories of the friendliness and fearlessness of the critters. And, I am terribly sad that I must emit some evil vibe that keeps all my wildlife at bay. Every. Single. Day. I feed generously. I call them to dinner when I put out the goodies (so, I can understand why the human neighbors keep their distance), but as soon as I get within 30', off they go -- some retreat as soon as I open the door. Do you think maybe I look evil? I would post a selfie so you could judge - but I'm afraid it might break my camera.
