Amazon .. is not a "photography" 'company' ... but ... they are the BEST for almost everything, I've had to get my
money back a couple times and 'no-problem' they offer many of the 'same' types of goods (different brands models etc)
I/we (my wife too) have used them for years without a problem.
One thing (on my account at least) I use 'Pay-Pal' for 'all my online purchases' to get 'double' protection.
Amazon=happy camper
I have genuine Canon grips for both my 5D MKII & 7D MKII. I bought the first one for my 5D off of ebay for $70 bucks and was like new. The second came in a package deal when I purchased my 7D. And 99% of the time they sit in a drawer in their boxes gathering dust, due to the added weight when mounted on my bodies. I do use them when I shoot video. For stills I just take a spare battery. However, they do look cool, and make any body look like the 1DXxxx series.

I bought a Vello grip for my Nikon D7100 and have had issues with it. How about not be able to get it off the body, basically fused together. Different metals. I finally got it off and use a lubricant on both screw openings. Hope this helps.

Interesting. Everybody has a different perspective. I like the balance and feel of a camera with a battery grip - the heft. Don't care about "the look". My cameras have the battery grip on 99% of the time. Like you, my wife's battery grip lives in its box 99% of the time. I've just compared my new 80D with Canon battery grip with my old Canon T90 - aka 'The Tank', they feel similar, although without being able to weigh them, the T90 feels slightly heavier. The balance of the T90 was very good, but the 80D /BG-E14 combination is better, especially when considering the control ergonomics. Even my old trusty Canon AE-1, one of the lightest SLR cameras of its time (1976) is a similar weight with the power winder attached.
I guess I'm just not a light-weight!
FYI FWIW, I got a Vivitar BP from Cameta for the 80D - $49 - and is working very well !
The main reason I have the BP is for the ergonomic control in vertical orientation ......it's not about size/ weight, feel, looks or battery life for me.

I will answer your question. Why would you buy anything from a company, if you have to ask about the trustworthyness of that company?
You answered a question with a question. Of course, I'm used to that because I'm Jewish. Jewish people always answer a question with a question. Why do we always answer a question with another question? How else do you answer a question?
Sorry, removed a double post.
Sometimes I think buying photography equipment is like buying power tools. The people who use it for a living just about Always by the name brands like DeWalt, Porter Cable, Etc. While Weekend Warriors like me who buy the off Brands like Cobalt for example. If it's for a hobbyist, you can come up with off brands that work well. Unfortunately, not a lot will stand up to the use that professionals put it through which is why they are cheaper, and why the professionals stick to the name brands.

I have bought them for each of my Canons from a company in Hong Kong and they have performed quite nicely.

Ah, well I guess to each his own, you big rough and tumble manly man!
We all have our preferences, and can't all be as big and strong as you!

The OEM Canon battery grips I found on Amazon go for around $200 or more. Looks like you
paid about 25% of that. It may be fine, or it may be a piece of junk that lasts a few weeks.
Your saving grace is that Amazon has a very liberal return policy, so give it the torture test
and if it fails, return it. Best of luck! >Alan

From another member of the tribe: that is hilarious, because it is so true! >Alan
