Need a good tough but inexpensive camera case check this out.
Those stack-able modules just make sense!! The wheeled version is just "the bomb"!!
Tony, that is pretty nice. Also, the Ridgid sounds nice too, but I'll stick with the one I've been using for the last 7 years. The F was a stand-in for my D700. My D800, along with a variety of accessories, rides along with me daily in this. $35 and doesn't scream expensive equipment inside.

Just purchased this Dewalt tool case (24.47) and foam insert (11.99)from Amazon.
DEWALT DWST17808 TSTAK I Long Handle Toolbox Organizer
DEWALT DWST88801 TSTAK Foam Insert
Insert comes with cut squares you have to pull out any way you want. Granted it's an OLY E5 4/3 so the case is roomy enough for a good amount of gear. They do make larger ones.

I'm looking for a better bag what is it called and where can I see it?
Tony,
I carry this with me 95% of the time. If I leave my place, it is usually with me. It carries most everything I need on a daily basis.
My Nikon F is standing in for the D700 in the photos.
Pros:
Light weight
Durable
Under $40
Washable
Fits under an aeroplane seat (carry on)
Doesn't have an expensive looking label that says Expensive Camera Gear Inside.
Cons:
If you think you need a house trailer for the equipment you carry daily, this isn't it.
If you like to throw your camera bag around like a basketball, this isn't it, either.
It's a Condor Tactical Response Bag.
Can be purchased from:
Allied Surplus in the Phoenix, AZ. area - alliedsurplus.com/
You may have to call and speak with them, as this item doesn't always appear on their site.
Or from Condor Tactical -
www.condoroutdoor.com/Condor-136.aspxDisclaimer: I neither work for nor represent either of the two companies listed in this post. I do support, through purchases, Allied Surplus, as they are a great bunch of folks with whom to do business.

Something like that would be good when shopping with the wife. When she asks you to hold her pocketbook while she's trying on clothes, you could stick it in a tool box - a much better look than standing there holding a pocketbook.
Especially those PINK bags or the ones with FLOWERS! And, they NEVER match my (BLACK) shoes and belt.
Beats celibacy, though.

All these work well. I always suggest to my students that if you are traveling, travel light. If you need a camera case/bag, I suggest a baby diaper bag. Plusses for the diaper bag: They don't cost much. They generally are water proof. Most are well padded. All have lots of compartments. They come in many colors and patterns. They don't say Canon, Nikon, Sony, or anything worth anything on them. Best of all...No one ever steals a diaper bag. Happy Shooting
That's a great idea. Being the sicque person that I am, I'd probably take a brand new diaper and doctor it just a bit with some paint and use it to cover the camera equipment.

Best case is a Pelican 1510TP, has wheels and you can easily attach a backpack to it for any accessories you have.
I always have to fight the urge that bigger is better... I looked strongly at tool boxes for my new baby, and was really torn between going frugal (my wife's choice) and getting the Pelican case I know I wanted. I was favorably impressed by the DeWalt cases. Home Depot sells a stackable system of robust hard shell cases. The bottom case is $59 and it has big wheels and tremendous carry capacity. You then buy additional cases to suite your needs. They all hook together for easy wheel-around transport. I also found that Hobby Lobby sells 24x24" foam sheets in various thicknesses. My ideal case, constructing it myself put me within arm's reach of the Pelican cost. So being a lazy spendthrift I just coughed up the additional $$$. My case is now in transit visiting in Albuquerque courtesy of FedEx.

I would not recommend the Stanley Fat Max roller case. I have one for my CSI equipment. It is fine for that but too lightweight for valuable camera gear.
To the OP: Well done. Looks like a first class job and you saved a lot of $$$ that you can now frivolously spend on more camera equipment.
Mine is the three slot. As a sailing photographer, I love the high visibility yellow. Easy to spot if it falls overboard

I think that A DeWalt case would be stolen quicker than a case with a camera logo on it. Pawnshops deal in tools much more than cameras.

My idea for the Dewalt case is for storage and transport I would never carry it into the woods or any where I would have to worry about turning my back on it. Needs a strap installed not hard to do. Also could paint the yellow black and cover logo.
