Which lens do you think would be best for this type of camera I have. Which one would be best for the price.
Thanks

I agree, that lens from Amazon will be junk. It's not a 500-1000mm lens, it's a 500mm lens with a 2X teleconverter, but it wil be totally useless.
Although I shoot Nikon, I have a 55-300mm on a Nikon DX Crop Camera. That Nikor lens has worked well for sports (Little League baseball, High School Soccer, outdoor graduations, Birds in Flight, and other things). Use your existing 55-250mm lens, which has almost the same reach as my 55-300mm because the Canon crop factor is slightly high. Wait until it can't do the job you want, then, and only then, consider something else.
Remember, in post processing you can always crop your photo if you need to.

Of course everyone knows comma placement is subject to someone's individual writing style and where they wish to place emphasis in the sentence.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake of putting the word, to, in front of the word, point. Since I doubt I will make that mistake again I doubt I will look like a horse's ass.
Much appreciated,
Dennis
I can recommend the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens for long distance, although it will only be f/6.3 at 600 mm. It is reasonably priced for what you get. The Canon 100-400mmL II is very expensive, but is faster.
I like my Sigma 150-600mmC. I shoot air shows and will be using it for the upcoming eclipse with the 18 stop filter I just received.
Good luck!

You should CAREFULLY see the REAL lenses available, then evaluate your needs and budget, then ask for opinions. Again no lens exists as a zoom with the focal lengths 500-1000.
Actually there is one (LoL), it's a Sigma 200-500mm F2.8 APO EX DG with a built-in 2X converter (giving a 400-1000mm range, with an f/5.6 aperture)... Cost, about $25,000.....

LOL! Guess its slightly out of the OP's budget.
Thank you that is the advice I have Ben looking for, all of the posts have been Excellent. I think I will stay with what I have until I am better at taking pictures and using my camera
less is more - go for quality primes and learn the craft - zooms by definition are a compromise optically. gl.
Its a 500 mm with a 2x extender t mount junk.

Not from Canon, which was what I was thinking of mostly. But, yes cheaply made there are. They are so bad I just never give those any importance. Thanks for your contribution to the thread BTW. What is your advice for the OP? You forgot that part.
You're welcome. The OP has all the advice he needs. The rest is up to him.

Dont you think we had enough of your stupidity? If you are going to contribute something here related to the photography issue at hand, please do so. But if you are just coming here to show your superior knowledge about the english language, think again. Talk photography....better yet you have a link to your images? We get that you are a linguistic expert but do you actually know anything about photography?

So, you will not write the usual essay and post the 35 images you usually do? Poor OP then. I bet he would be very impressed....not me though.

Even if you could get a 500mm lens that was a reasonable quality for under $8,000, when you get to anything much above 400 you really need to use a tripod. The Canon 100-400 is probably the best lens for what you need - the new "Mark II" is very good - the older Mark I is available used in good condition for $800-900 or so and is a very, very good lens. But to hand-hold a lens at 400mm you need to use a shutter speed of 1/500 sec or faster, so you need a lot of light. So - there are a lot of challenges.
