What do you mean by "Will not replace my D3300" ? The D7k is an excellent camera. It will spank your D3300 in many ways. Not the least of which is the option to shoot lossless 12 bit raw files. Unfortunately the nature of today's technology is that resale prices are pennies on the dollar after a few years, for camera bodies. That low resale price does not mean they are low quality.
Of course in the end, what really matters is which camera likes you better.
Always nice to have a couple of bodies with the same mount (D3300 a bit limited). The sensor on the D3300 is no slouch however! I just blew up some VERY sharp 16" x 20" prints from my (now gone) D3100 that I took on vacation in June this year. 14 meg sensor on that... That camera was replaced last week by a (new to me!) D7000!!
