Was going to wait on a D7200 in a year or so then saw this baby on Craig's list for over a month ... he reduced the price once from $400 to $300 ... mint condition with 12,000 actuations and the extra battery pack. Used inside for product shoots. My new to me D7000. Will not replace my D3300 but will be fun to learn about.

I have two D7000's. They're great cameras. I have since purchased a D500 but will keep the D7000's. I think 16 megapixels is about the ideal resolution for a DX sensor. It's roughly the same pixel density as the 36 megapixel D810.

Thanks for the info ... three cameras! Wow! I figure two for me ... much later on I might add either a D7200 or a D 7500.

Did you program the Fn button on your D3300? It's very useful. There are a lot of functions you can program to that button. On the D7000, the Fn and depth of field preview buttons can be programmed.

The D7000 is a good camera, just without some of the "bells and whistles" of the newer models. You will find it a very good camera to work with. [That was my first DSLR, top of the crop-sensors at the time of purchase.] Now I also have a D810, and the D7000 is my backup camera. Still working fine after 5 years and one professional sensor cleaning and a few other tweaks from a Nikon-approved repair center. Use my FX lenses on both!

Enjoy!

The only change I made to the 3300 was making the AE-L button my focus button. Still experimenting with that ... I'm thinking I'm going to keep it that way. Once I get used to the 7000 then I'll probably change some things. Thanks for the info.

It sure is ... with just an older, slower processor than the 7200. At some point down the road I see having two d7xxx cameras. I'm DX for life have no interest in Full Frame. I'll be keeping this one for a few years.
Thanks for replying, Susan.
