CHICAGO -- The Fourth of July weekend is off to a violent start, CBS Chicago reports.
At least six people were killed and dozens of others wounded in shooting incidents as the city headed into Monday morning. Among the wounded is the son of a Cook County judge in what Chicago Police have dubbed a gang related shooting.

And in New Orleans there were 13 people shot, 2 dead, 11 wounded Saturday night...there has been violence throughout the country this weekend. I get your point because of Chicago's noted homicide rates increasing daily, but it's not just isolated to Chicago. We must not forget or ignore those who die daily who are lucky or unlucky enough to live outside of Illinois.

Because I'm more concerned about what goes on in MY state and MY city.
I understand that Illinois has sever fiscal issues, but that's on Springfield.
What is so "special" about Chicago that the whole world is watching it.
