You really should straighten the horizon in the first shot.

The tumult of the water is nicely captured.

Lake Michigan can be very calm on some days ... this was not one of them.
Shot 3/18/17 Ludington, MI Pier at Sterns park downtown. New this site -- and this camera
Camera - Nikon D-5500 Lens VR 150-500mm, 300mm, f/6, shutter 1/1250s, ISO 100
Wave shot 500mm f/6.3 shutter1/500s ISO 100

That looks to me the perfect time for a walk on the pier!!

I think it would be interesting to see this same picture taken on the same kind of day with a long exposure.

Watch the horizon line, the photo is not level. It is something I have to be constantly aware of

Nice set of Lake Michigan. Shallow water can produce really turbulent water as photos show. Thanks for showing. /George

+Thanks Howard...... I just learned about that .....Ironically even with a straight horizon the light house will be tilted ...as that is how it sits on the pier.

Great idea - I will have to give that a try ... if I can get enough wind protection - so the tripod sits still.

Very nice set. Love how you captured the light coming through the tops of the waves.

Love your photos. Have always been partial to lighthouses. Love the color of the waves in #2. Keep on posting and welcome to UHH.

wow. Water is so rough it actually is pushing that light house over.
