That lighthouse takes a beating. One of my sisters lives in Ludington. Somebody gave her a photo where it looks like a wave is going to swallow it.

In the 70's I had a friend who had a Cottage on White Lake, Michigan and it had a channel out to Lake Michigan. For several years I fished Lake Michigan and when you saw the weather changing you better get your boat off of the Lake as it could get really rough quickly. Great pictures by the way and I love the image of just the waves.
They are now talking about Great Lakes Tsumanis (meteotsunamis), as the climate changes caused by fast moving convective storms able to push water down and ahead, forming a tidal surge.
