Reminds me of an old western duel
Very fun. You must have found the main highway to set up your cam.

Animal High Noon..great shot.
If contact was made the fox lost. I would bet that after lots of posturing they both backed off and ran!

That's a great capture I have a trail cam picture of two black bears having a brawl, but picture quality is not as gud as yours. If I cud ask what brand of trail cam are you using? Mine are cudde backs
Great picture.... we set our trail cam up we had a deer take a selfie:). But most disturbing was the human visitors trespassing.
Nice picture. My money is definitely on the raccoon for the win.

These two have been at it off and on all year. The fox has kits and wants the raccoon to move. Some of the smaller ones do but the big one does not budge. The fox will run around the raccoon and run and and nip at it but the raccoon does not care. I have yet to see them really make any contact. Its a nightly event outside my bedroon on the yard too. I get to see it on the house security cam video every morning.

Thanks, that would be neat to see. This was taken with an old Moultrie 55IR 5MP camera. I had a few and they all take great stills (but lousy video). Big cams too taking 6 C cells. But they have taken 30-40K clicks each over the years and only one of the three have failed just recently. I went looking for replacement cams and boy has the quality gone down. Smaller for sure but grainier and death on batteries or kept screwing up the SD cards. I tried a few from Moultrie and Stealth Cam and sent them all back. The quality of a lot of the newer cams is terrible. I even had a Moultrie that lasted less than a month. Filled with water when it rained and that was it. Very disappointed in Moultrie now since I really liked the 55IR's I have had for a number of years.
Then I found Spypoint Force 10 and am very pleased with that for video which I am taking a lot of this year. Small camera red LED IR low glow and takes 10MP stills or 720p video (no sound). Quality of video is excellent. I have been taking 30 second videos and can get over 800 vids on 6 duracell AA's. Unheard of in any of the other cameras I tried. I recently picked up a second Spypoint Force 10 to put at the fox den after the Moultrie A5 filled with water and died

Thanks, I had a deer on video a week or so ago on a trail cam. Not many here this year. I would freak if I saw people I do not know on the trail cam, that would not be good.

They go at it every night, never touch. The fox tries to get the raccoon to move but the raccoon usually just goes "talk to the paw" and ignores her so she leaves.

They must be somewhat used to each other. Years ago I saw a raccoon fight a coon dog and darned near killed the dog. If the guide had not reached in and pulled the dog out I honestly thing the dog would be dead. Raccoons can be very nasty.

I agree if they ever really got into it the raccoon would win. These two though a lot is show they will yell and scream and posture then 10 minutes later the fox and the kits will be close to the raccoon and they do not seem to care
