Uh huh. Guess they all suck in your estimation.

Since I haven't too much longer to live, I will continue to stick with my Nikon D7100 and my P900.

I would have to say my Nikon D50. It was my first DSLR. It was the one I started out with and probably will end up with. In the interim I have bought and sold many cameras. The D50 is the only one I have retained. It still works like new and I shoot with it often.

i would pick a Lecia; because there is no way i could afford to buy one. That being said I'm very happy with my Canon 5d Mark 3. I'm also happy with my go to lens of 24-70 L.

The ones I'm shooting with now (I don't just choose one camera, I always shoot with several ones, always have), are probably the ones I will use for the rest of my live!

I love my Canon 5D Mark 11 with ALL the lenses that will fit it (when I buy all those lenses).

The original question doesn't make a whole lot of sense...who buys a camera (film or digital or anything electronic) with the idea of keeping it the rest of their lives?

I think it great that most Hogs are so happy with what they have. Satisfaction with our situation is a wonderful gift.

I'd probably get the Unicorn model A. You know, the one that shoots full-frame RAW in 26MP as well as JPEG, comes equipped with a 10-2000 f/1.2 super zoom, has an articulating touch screen, full viewfinder, weighs just several ounces and fits in my shirt pocket. That one.

You should wait for the Unicorn model B. It has a bigger battery which will yield at least 500 shots.

I do. I already answer Bob for cameras. But I am now 62 and I bought my calculator at age 22 and I still use it today. I bought my cassette recorder at age 34 and I am still using it and it's in perfect condition (not even a scratch). The computer keyboard I am using now I had since I was 35. I do expect to keep all of them until I die.

One of the best and most interesting post I've seen in a long time on UHH! Great to see the various replies to Jim Bob's question. I've been glued reading all of them; very diversified and enlightening, just like all of humanity. To you Jim Bob, and if you don't mind, let us know what inspired you to submit this one. Great post!

Depends on how old you are!
