Went to the Museum yesterday to do some up-date pics of our restoration. We managed to source a complete exhaust system from the US so things are really coming together nicely.

Wow! Did you see that brief series from England about restoring old planes? Very interesting. On guy specializes in restoring/rebuilding Merlin engines.

That looks like a project to be proud of. What model of the aircraft is it, and has your team decided how to finish it yet?

We are going to the Dayton air show on the 23rd of June and the Air Force Museum. Hope to get some decent pictures this time.

Clint aka Phantomphyxer

Clint That is a F4U Corsair (AKA by the Japanese as Whistling Death). One of WW'II's greatest fighters right up there with the P51's, P38's & P47.

Wow Ron what a beautiful restoration job. Looks like a tremendous amount of man-hours are being put into it. What an amazing "prize" you'll have at the end of the journey! Excellent photos of the progress.

I understand, l was wondering what model (there were 16 during the life of the aircraft) yours was built by Vought, being an F4U. Brewster manufacturer were F3A's and Goodyear models were FG's.

I really envy you. Being a part of that would be a bucket list item for me. I would love to be in on a P-40 rehab. :-) Cheers.

Thanks for the photographs. My older brother flew them off of the carrier Lexington in WW II. Gave me another pause to think of him.
