I am a huge Sony fan and own 3 mirroless cameras, make sure you check them out. There is one for every budget. The best mirroless camera is the one you like to use so check all brands out and see which one suites you the best.

I have the Sony A7rII and it takes excellent images and is much lighter than the larger DSLRs. I generally take landscape and have the 16-35 wide angle zoom and 55 mm prime. You can easily carry these in a shoulder pack. I recently purchased a 70-200 that requires a larger pack when I need it. It is full frame and the sensor is one of the best. I believe the Nikon 810 uses this sensor as well.

I came from Nikon too. I went to Fuji. 1st with the XT-10 then the XT-2. I love them. Shot raw always but the jpegs are just so darn good I mostly just do that now.
There a learning curve but I just love it.

If you're serious about wanting lighter weight, be sure to take along your D7200 and lens to compare with the camera you want to purchase. You may find, as I did, that many APS-C mirrorless options are not much different once you include lenses. I ended up with M4/3 and am very happy with it.

Yes if image quality is paramount, Fuji XT-2 or XT-20 is your baby. If size and weight is at the top of the list, then the 4/3 Oly etc are for you. You will get neither if you go all the way down to a bridge camera.

Coming from a Nikon D800 with its full frame lenses, the Fuji X-T2 feels quite lightweight. I carried one in my hand all day with a wrist strap.

Other than skin color in portraits - he feels strongly that the color renditions are not good.

If you are considering Sony's full frame line up, understand that you probably won't be disappointed with IQ. The native lenses are a must. The adapters are just too unreliable. This means you will be spending a lot of money on lenses you already have for your Nikon. Going fast is more expensive than you would think. For example, the 24-70 f2.8 is about $2200! In addition, if you want to shoot 4k, which is spectacular on these cameras, you can only go with the FE lenses as the cropped ones fit and work fine for stills but give you horrible vignetting on the videos. I learned this the hard way, but was able to swap a lens out with Crutchfield's super-long return policy. Having said all of that, the dynamic range, color, and AF, and low light capabilities are so good on my A7Sii, i have considered selling my 5D4 and lenses. If you go with the A7Rii and have big hands, get the vertical grip. All this means is I hope you have a lot of money to spend. 😜 If that's truly the case, consider the a9. I think all these cameras are awesome, I just don't see how you can make any money selling your images with these prices.

If you haven't spent a red cent on Sony and don't like the prices, do consider the new Lumix GH5.

If you are looking to Sony don't hesitate. I replaced my Canon with Sony A6000 to use on my Europe trip because it was smaller and lighter. I love that camera, so upgraded to Sony A7rll full frame. I will never go back to DSLR.
