I love the lighting in this image....wonderful capture.
It looks really nice on my screen. I wonder, though, if it would look that good printed. Backlit screens do add quite a bit of luminosity. But it's just lovely.
Very, very nice. Thanks for sharing.
That's beautiful. Very tranquil setting. One could almost visualize the fairies and pixies flitting about there.

You've conveyed the serenity of the place. It seems almost holy. Thanks for sharing this beautiful shot.

Back from the usual "rain walk". It's a light, soaking mist that hasn't stopped for several days. Makes me want to hibernate, but once outside and walking, it's fine.
I reworked an image from the old Yashica Mat medium format film camera, tried to bring out the shadows a little more without ruining the image.
The lighting was really difficult in this little canyon, and the old camera with slide film doesn't give much leeway. I used the Sunny 16 rule for the highlights and opened up one stop.
There were a large number of Coho Salmon in the pool; obviously, this was the end of their journey to spawn, as they would not be able to negotiate the series of waterfalls.

Laurence68: I really liked this mysterious quiet alone and beautiful. Nice Shot!!! Thank you...
Thank you Leicaflex, J_SPEIGHT, Teton Viewer, pamwiggins49, rlaugh, and samantha90. Appreciate feedback.
To answer Teton Viewer's question about location, this is in the Quinault Valley, and is from Willaby Creek, which empties into Lake Quinault.
Lake Quinault was formed from a moraine in the Fraser Stade of the last ice advance, and is pretty good sized - about 5 miles long and 2 miles wide.
And, thank you also fourg1b2006, RWCRNC, rineal, woodweasel, cjdub, AzPicLady, MT native, wingpilot, RickL, vicksart, I STOP TO SHOOT.
To answer the question about the print, it actually printed up nicely as a small print 8x8, but I asked the printers to burn in the darks and they did a good job of it.
Yes, I wish I would have had a polarizer, I didn't expect the sun to come bursting through the low clouds and mist like that.
Also, I couldn't bracket because (naturally!) it was the LAST shot on the roll. :-) Murphy's Law strikes - always when you don't want it to.
Thanks for the location Laurence 68. I'll be visiting in Sequim in a few weeks and will try to get to this place. One of the nice things about shots like this is that it isn't of a scene that has been seen online or in magazines dozens of times.
