He Joe, I have the 7100 and am looking at some wide angles for Real Estate projects. How do you like the Tonkia?

That's what I thought I was seeing as well. So is everything I see about a D7200 except the wireless stuff applicable to the D7100 as far as aperture speed and size when someone posts that info? Looks like the answer is yes but that's why I ask. I don't know for fact. I now have a D7100 and it's way more camera than the Minolta I parked 15 years ago.

This piece might help those "new" to this site, or to Nikon, in their quest to ensure their knowledge levels (in this case D7200 v D7100) are adequate to comment with a degree of authority to the assembled readers .......

hmmm the 7500 looks interesting with some pluses and minuses from both 7200/500 series but for the $250 step up they should have included 2 card slots (having 1 slot reduces cost, weight, and makes the profile a bit slimmer)....might stick with the 7200, which might benefit from further price reductions new when the 7500 is available for sale.

From my own personal experience, and if I had to choose between Rockwell and Thom Hogan about "things Nikon", then it'd be Hogan every day !

By the way ...... jccash ...... if you use the "Quote Reply" box at the bottom of every post, and especially when responding to a specific post, it really makes it so much easier for all to follow the direction you're headed.

For sure craggy , been reading Thom Hogan for ten years , and Rockwell is a joke, every time he checks a camera it's the only one he uses
He just goes for the flavor of the day , every camera he drags home , it's the best camera made , , how in he'll would he know , he said for
Years all he uses is , sets his cameras in P and leave them there , and cranks the contrast ,and colors to as vivid as he can get them ,
He is a joke at best , amusing to read if your bored , I caught him contradicting him self more than once

It would be great to find a reasonable refurb D7200 for $600.00. Don't know about lens prices, as they can vary a lot.

Not at all, dear fellow ! Restez calme ! Perhaps you and I read the same words in the same language differently? Easily possible when you're in North Texas and I'm in South Nottingham ! When I was in Dallas, and then Austin, I enjoyed the hotch-potch of Texan phrases that came my way. "Only in Texas" I thought ! Nothing wrong with asking questions........ or even a little "international banter" to enliven our days.

When you've been around this site for a while you'll find that the same questions get asked ad infinitum, people give the same answers, and some of us still continue trying to assist by pointing folks towards websites which give knowledgeable and plausible answers quickly. For "product knowledge" type queries the manufacturer's websites will deliver the info from the horse's mouth. Too often the "product knowledge" being emitted by a goodly number of UHH members isn't correct and causes confusion.

And hey ....... a quick Google search will often help quicker than asking here !

Ride 'em cowboy ...... or do they only say that in the films (movies)? !!

If you want to save $ for the D7200, look at Nikon refurbs (Adorama, B&H and Cameta). These are in the mid $700 range for the body and Cameta extends the Nikon 90 warranty for a full yr. You can get a 2 lens bundle (18-55 and 55-300) with goodies for $1100 and no tax/free shipping if you are outside NY. Plus you can call Cameta and make your own bundle if you want change things around. Same for B&H and Adorama but they are closed until Wed due to religious holidays

As to the D7500, most Hogs think it not the money. No 2nd card slot, no grip, different battery from other cameras in the D7XXX series, Yes you do get the same sensor as the D500 and a swivel screen but I think the bad outweighs the good.

I have the 7100, and I love it. But I'm finding myself wondering if I should have gone with a mirrorless, because they are lighter and smaller. If you want to go with the dslr, check B&H, Adorama, Amazon, see what the kit would cost from them.

My thoughts on mirrorless, are there not that much lighter than a D7200 , if your using a long lens on them , I would much sooner shoot
Flying birds with a d7000, d7200 and a 200-500 zoom rather than using a Olympus 0m 11or what ever of the same zoom power .and you can find things much faster , the omI is known for being harder to learn ,
