I love Galveston. My Mom grew up there. As a kind we went every year. My wife and I still love to go. It has changed a lot since '74.

At the Galves hotel go to tha basement and there you will see a very detailed photo history of Galveston

Down the road a bit from the Galvez there is or was a WWII gun emplacement bunker. Another

My hubby and I have a time share on Galveston and will be arriving on the day you leave. We are in to birding and mother nature. ANAHUAC is a wonderful place. Also the far eastern end of the island is great. Look on the internet for Birding South East Texas and it will show you many places to go.

East End Victorian homes are interesting; so are some homes in the Silk Stocking District. Kemah boardwalk is awfully touristy.
