Hope to get great pics in Galveston. Brazoria Nat'l Wildlife Refuge is on my list. Need Hog's suggestions for other good places. Interested in landscapes as well. I may not get back there anytime soon. Thanks in advance for your help.
The ferry ride is interesting. An old light house on the Peninsula.
There is an old fort at on Bolivar peninsula.
Some houses on the main drag. Bishops Mansion interesting.
Some people like the strand for shopping and historical buildings.
You can get some bird photos maybe an alligator or two in Galveston State park on the bay or surf side.
Galves Hotel and sea wall.
Go on the web there is information there.

Love lighthouses!
I'm gonna be busy,
The Kemah Boardwalk in League City has some interesting photo opportunities.
Smith Oakes Rookery is a great place to see lots of birds.
If you want shots of huge ships, the east end of the island is great for that.
NASA Space center, drive southward toward Freeport for great shoreline pics
Not far, less than 40 miles from the ferrly is High Island, another 10 miles is Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge. High Island especially good for song birds migrating north from South America. Best around Late March and April. Anahuac is a large area that you mostly drive around and shoot from you car. All kinds of birds to be found. Boliver flats is between High Island and Ferry. Depending on tide many feeding shore birds there. Best place to stay to take in all of this is Winny Texas about 24 miles north. Can stay in High Island but not much there.
Jean Lafitte bird sancuary is on the island but not easy to find. Nice paved walks same as High Island, mid March and April. This site will give you information, most of the places listed are withing walking distance if you are in High Island.

Stay in Winnie, Texas. Easy access from there to High Island and Boliver Peninsula. Lots of photo ops there. Take the ferry over to Galveston, get on Seawall Blvd. and just keep going. Several landscapes opportunities before and after crossing the $2.00 toll bridge. In Galveston, the Pleasure Pier is interesting. To avoid a fee, do not park along Seawall Blvd. Use the side streets. Seawolf Park has a WWII submarine and destroyer you can tour. Restaurants are kinda expensive, IMO.
If you have time, Beaumont, Port Arthur and the Sabine Pass areas are certainly worth seeing, as is Sea Rim State Park.
Pretty good shots around the pool at the San Luis😎
