Trump one. The jury is still out on whether that is synonymous with a win for the rest of the country. Hopefully, even someone as mentally challenged as you appear to be can understand that.

Just watching a trump media event with our prime minister Justin Trudeau, and you can barely hear them talk because there is an extremely noisy background barrage of camera shutters. How annoying! Two questions:

1. Why on earth do the photographers need 100's if not 1000's of photos to get one good enough for their media platform?

2. Why on earth do they NOT put there cameras in " silent mode"? My 5D has this feature and I assume most cameras do as well. Professional photographers have high end cameras that must offer a silent mode. I don't believe they are using flash since the lighting is very good so we can't blame it on flashes.

Louis, your complaint is noted and sympathized with. Those folk are not interested in your desires, wishes, needs. They are focused (sorry) on getting an image that their editors will like so they can collect a paycheck at the end of the week. That's all that concerns them. Next week, at the football game, the shoe will be on the other foot, but today they are totally self-centered.

Of course the rest of are never self-centered. Just check with your wife. LOL

I am an ordained clergy, even though I haven't been a pastor of a church in 40 years. But I do get asked to perform weddings. Wedding photographers have to be told, "No flashes during the ceremony." You'd think I was asking them to swallow jalapeno peppers for the whole ceremony. Why don't they understand that their flashes interfere with the rest of the congregation/attenders? (Of course the same is true for all those friends of the bride/groom who use flash on their cellphones. (To be clear, I have no trouble with flash at any other time. In fact doing a wedding without flash is almost impossible)

Yes, and in a couple of months, we will have a camera that will take 30 18MP 6K stills per second. It's called the GH5. And it will take those 30fps SILENTLY.

Maybe I wasn't looking on the right page, but I couldn't find anything specifically about the shutter; does it use an "electronic shutter" exclusively?

Companies have made impressive progress with "insanely high" ISO settings. With the possible exception of fill flash to over-ride natural shadows, I'm not sure why anyone would need to use a flash in a few years.

I believe that if you read the rules on this forum, personal attacks on someone are not allowed. I wish people would get over the hate in this country and try to be civil towards each other. We are all Americans and I would hope we all strive for our country to succeed, whoever is elected President.

I'm good with that.

Typical liberal response, attack someone personally. You can't even spell a 3 letter word- "won" and you're calling me mentally challenged.

There is enough arguing and fighting on political sites and the daily news. Photography is a chance to get away from it (unless of course we're photographing a politico from the other party (which ever that might be)).

Off camera strobe gives a chance to shape the subject that is useful and will never be replaced solely by having enough light if the light isn't also coming from the right direction. That's why multiple strobes and different light modifiers are so useful (necessary?) in a studio. Whether shooting on location portraits or indoor events, radio controlled off camera lighting opens up many creative possibilities.

Then why did you introduce them in the first place? Perhaps that is why you were prodded. Apparently you are easily provoked. And easily so.

As for your self description, - I may be so bold as to ask whether you are sure about the pejorative term that you used, and whether or not it applies to yourself.

Jim Bob has a history of attacks, so there must not be a rule against it.
