I'm really sorry for bringing this issue up. My point was that UH is a photography forum and I still believe everything should be photography related. Yes, I read the category for Chit Chat so I know what it covers and with that, everyone can comment on these issues.
For me, I will do my best to read and comment about photography.

Then just stay on the photography side of the site, you can unsubscribe to the Chit Chat.... If you are coming in here and reading comments that you find offensive then you are doing so by your own choice. I tend to agree with the others here, you are wishing to impose your comfort level on others who feel differently than you.

Many of the same people you find posting in Chit Chat you will also find in the photography sections making good constructive comments regarding photography related questions.... I would also suspect that if someone is typically negative and nasty they do not need the political talk of the Chit Chat to bring that out of them, it would eventually come out anyway regardless as to whether or not the Chit Chat section exists.

Chit-Chat is a vehicle for anyone who chooses to rant, rave, attack, belittle, ridicule, mock, scorn, taunt, tease, lampoon, deride, rib, razz, heckle and bully, letting out their pent up emotions and anger. Best therapy for those who can't afford $300 an hour to see a shrink with no guarantees of success or spend valuable time and expensive gas money to attend an anger management class. It has probably saved more from suicide than the suicide hot line. On the other hand it may also have caused some suicides as I've seen Wabbit post a few jumper photos. It's a panacea for many that aren't thin skinned and overly sensitive to criticism.
