That's easy , the first one is a picture, the second is a throw away , it's not a keeper at all ,
Number one for me Jimande, lovely shot.

The first image is superb; the second is slightly washedout.
My preference is the top photo, though it is a tad too dark, Jim.

No 1 the very best!!
Good Luck!
They are both acceptable photographs but there are two things that I think spoil them both, it is difficult to distinguish the sky from the mountains and they also have lots of spots which look like dust from somewhere, this can easily be seen in the downloads.
It won't do any harm to enter either of them into your local contest though.
I love them both, however, I believe I would choose the lower one. I think it is sharper and the "feel" of it almost makes me cold, like I was there. Good luck with the contest. Please post your outcome.
Although the exposure for the snow is better in the second shot the sky in the first one makes the picture more interesting to the viewer. Landscape photographs are always busy because of the many elements present between foreground and background. There are not enough details in the sky in the second shot to render it interesting but I am no judge.

In the second version, the sky looks. Rey washed out. The 1st is clearly a better version.
Both are soft. both also have white spots and strikes when enlarged.

I prefer 1, it has more details and colors in the sky.
Neither one. The second is blown out and the first has a lot of artifacts on the scene. Also the first seems to be unfocused. Did you PP it?
#1, the second one looks almost washed out.
