Once I set as you explained, if I hit FN button, then AE Lock is not staying. Am I right? If I choose AE Lock only(HOLD) option, then it locked Exposure even though I release FN button after I hit it. Is this right for Nikon D750 or D7200? Thanks

I'm sorry, I must be really dense. If you use manual metering like you say, why do you need to lock the exposure? You've already locked it. The settings aren't going to change when you recompose.

Sounds like you could use Darrell Young's book "Mastering Your Nikon D7200"! It is a wonderful book and helps you learn all the settings in the camera! I am certainly learning things about my D7200 that I did not know and could not understand how the manual explained them! Good Luck!

Can't you use the back button for exposure lock with your thumb (after having set it up under Custom Settings), then use your shutter, halfway down, for focus lock? When satisfied with the exposure finish by closing the shutter release from the halfway position.

If you are in manual mode and using back button focus, when you meter on the sky and set your shutter speed and f-stop then recompose , when you press the shutter release again your exposure is still set for the sky, the meter reading changes but it does not change the exposure settings.
