I know about hanging in there, I am a contractor, I have around 20 guys that work for me, I have good customers and A holes, when you own a biz you better be able to take crap, I am excellent at letting the crap role off my back. Before I was a contractor I managed golf courses for 34 years- AT COUNTRY CLUBS. I am going to step on some toes here, but if you work for country club members and you can't take crap you better find a new profession. But in a forum like this, why should you have to??? Just don't understand why guys post the comments that they do---oh well.
Thanks

I often wonder why I post some of the stuff I post. Just remember that there is always something else, right downstairs, across the room, down the hall, that remains more civilized. The unwatch button is there for everybody. And it's so easy to use.

As just a student of photography, I like to stick with the photography related subjects, but can't stay out of the General Chit Chat room.

It's a great deal! You can learn or you can goof. Sometimes the mix can be a bit precarious! LOL!

Geezer - don't know who Wabbit was, but sounds like I better watch what I say - would hate to get banned. Speaking of which, I do regret adding the SOB comment at the end of my comments, that probably could of been left off -

To All - An observation and comment(s), in the above post a guy was asking about possibly buying a camera at Walmart and has warranty concerns - this is an answer he got for asking a simple question - "Perhaps you should ask Wal-Mart. Nah. That makes too much sense. Ask UHH instead". Several weeks ago I posted a "Thinking out loud" type post about buying a D500 when I already have a D7200, I had several post saying that they are the same camera (which they aren't!!!) and "why the hell" would I do that kind of responses. The worst was this one -"Part of being human is engaging in stupid conduct. Wise people learn from these mistakes. Idiots never do. Hopefully, you are in the former group"??? In a post below the Walmart question was this post - "Rough crowd, as a new member I am scratching my head. Seems most, if not all posts are challenged" -- OMG he is right. There are other "why the hell did you do that or say that" reply type post other than the ones I have copied - my question is WHY. Why do valid/sound/I want to know - etc. etc, type question get answered with sarcasm and "your an idiot for posting that" responses??? What is the purpose of UHH, is it not for both professionals and newbies to ask questions -- any question. I personally was made to feel like an "Idiot" (and other things) for what I posted, I am wandering how the guy that posted the question about buying a camera at Walmart feels? Even if the "why the hell are you asking us" post did not bother him, why say something like that? This is a forum for guys and gals that like photography, like to share ideas, like to get input on many subjects. I am of the belief that there is no dumb post, there is no stupid question, no comment or question that should be dismissed, and when someone post a comment or question --- to them it is something that they want input on, they want advice/opinions from people that have a lot of knowledge about photography. As for the Walmart question, DAMM RIGHT HE SHOULD POST THAT QUESTION HERE! And for the SOB's that post comments like the above mentioned -- have you tried Nikonions.

I think it would be extremely hard to get banned nowadays. Have you been up in the Attic lately? I seldom venture there myself, but I'll click on the newest thread and at the time, am not aware that I've went upstairs. Those guys can have it. The Attic exists for a reason. It's not like we're neighbors. Seems like it sometimes, but just keep a thick skin. I'm sure most of us just overlooked it. If it offends someone, they can just click on the ol' unwatch button. It's been my best friend.

I was reading on UH someone wanted to buy a Nikon D5300 two lenses kit for $700.00 dollars.I thought that sounds a little high. So I did a little looking. I found Wal-Mart selling a D5300 with a Nikon 18-55 a Tamron 70-300. DI LD Macro lens, 43×XIT wide angles lens 2.2 x XIT telephoto lens gadget bag, flash, 32gb card, memory card reader, tripod, RC control, filters, cleaning kit, strap, battery + charger, one year after market warranty, lens hoods, $699.00 dollars. Wal-Mart says international model no warranty but at the bottom of the page it says one year seller warranty. But not who ? I wonder if Wal-Mart would stand behind it.

rocket111...Thankx for the thread. I've learned so much about Wal-Mart and the way they sell cameras on their website. I'm sure they just get a cut, but I would have had no idea this was taking place. Now I'm excited about talking to the door greater at the local WM. He's a buddy of mine. I'm sure he's never online so he'll be clueless.
Again thanks for the post.

If you do, and it's extreme, don't hesitate to turn it into Admin. I did once and it promptly was taken down. They were WAY over the limit. I think it wss the only thing I ever complained about>to Admin. anyway<

42, Ritz and Walmart use "International" cameras that they sell for less. If you don't mind no warranties then it could be a way to go. As for me, I don't want to shell out a lot of money on a grey market camera, so I stick with paying the extra couple hundred bucks to get a legit camera with a warranty.

You are Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Walmart is an authorized Nikon dealer. HOWVER!!! The Walmart website clearly states that some of the items offered on the website are from NON-WALMART dealers. The ones that have items "Shipped from 47th Street Photo, Joe's Camera Palace (made up name so no offense meant to any real store) and other shipping points that are NOT WALMART (Hint, have it shipped for free and pick it up in your LOCAL Walmart. You will notice that this service is not offered if the seller is NOT Walmart. Cameta is also advertising on Walmart (they are an authorized dealer too). Just remember just because you saw it on the website doesn't mean it is really from Walmart and they will NOT support it.

You do me honor by quoting some of my most memorable posts. Thanks. I had forgotten about them. Just as true now as they were when originally posted. The Guru has spoken. Long live the Guru.

First you have to understand how Walmart buys. They set a price that they will pay, and force the maker of whatever to supply them with something similar to the item you and I would like to buy, at their price. that's why a $2 bag of chips at the gas station weighs 7.25 oz. and the same $2 bag at wally world weighs 6.5 oz. And Ww buys in volume, really BIG volume. I will never again buy anything electronic from Walmart; because whatever it is, it's not the same as the 10% higher priced item with the exact same name across the street. Just my 2 cents...

did you ever tray and ask a question at wal-mart?

I, for one, have tried, but can never find anyone who speaks English and/or will admit to doing so!
