Well I love Lowepro products but I don't think I understand this vest. All I see are loops. Are there no pockets?

It also says it should be used with their belt system. I don't get that either but I can enthusiastically recommend their utility belts. They make two. I use the lighter one.

Did you read the product description? The vest has pockets.

Don’t use a photo vest, but if you need a vest for chilly/cold/very cold weather, try one on this site:

I am a fly fisherman and I have a lot of vests for that purpose. However, I don't have one that is constructed mainly for carrying a few lenses and filters, etc. I have a backpack that I an use if I am going for a long hike. However, most of my shooting is done on short hikes and walks and I really only need some thing with a few pockets.
There are many brands out there. Do any of you have favorites that are comfortable, easy to access your lenses, and built for durability.
Thanks

Some years ago my wife bought me a Domke that I love. The best feature is ams that zip off so it is useful in a wide range of temperatures. The pockets are huge.

Alas I fear it is out of production...at least at a fair price ( ~$100). But you might look at the features for comparison.

I have a Domke Photogs vest that I bought 5 years ago that I like very much. However, I would add that when I bought it, I paid $110 for it, and I now find comparable Domke vests on Amazon for $249! Not sure what to make of that.

To each his own! Your question is about as general as; "Which camera bag is best?"

I bought a used one (above) on ebay a while back and it is made of heavy duty cotton and loaded with 14 pockets of many sizes. I carry lenses, filters, mem sticks, batteries, small binoculars, pens and pads, maps, etc. Good Woolrich brand. Look on ebay for 'woolrich men's vest' and you will see a wide variety. Some brands make a knock-off but they are of thinner material. I would not trust my heavy lenses in those pockets.

NatGeo markets a jacket that converts to a vest. Very durable, high quality.

I have an Ex Officio vest that I just love. It is very light weight and mostly made of mesh that the wind blows right through. The pockets are nylon and there are lots of them. There are two large pockets in the rear where you can pack a sandwich or a beer. It is so light it does not add much to the clothing you wear so is ideal for warm days. It weighs 6.5 ounces.
