Know what you mean Vince. I retired in 2014 and felt the same way. Not to bad for the first year but after that it got old very quick. I took a part time gig with Manheim Auto Auction. I photograph cars two days a week and drive the auction on Wednesday's.

My sister-in-law's mom gave me a book for Christmas several years ago, "Piston Aircraft Engines of WWII." I think, in addition to engine manufacturers and design challenges I believe it also says who made the airframes. I remember one entry of an engine that was made by Whirlpool (?), who makes washing machines. It had a nickname attached to it. Lots of companies changed their production lines to help the war effort.

Yes good year makes tires, but no Vought made the f4U

The Goodyear Corsair was given the designation fg-1d. So I guess you are correct in saying Voight built the f4u.
