My first camera was I was given this to take to church camp. It actually took wonderful black and white photos that was back in the late 60s. It was second hand.
My real interest in photography was after having kids. As a child growing up I had a terrible fear of storms. To the point of getting sick. So i had to pull up my big girl panties and be brave so my fear did not show. I didn't want my kids to be frightened. I would let them use the camera and we would drive around to get pictures of storms. It worked now we all have fun taking pictures and the fear is no longer just respect for the weather.
This beauty :)

I was interested in photography from the moment I could hold a camera. I used to dress up my animals and take pictures of them - I have stacks of these hilarious pictures.
I don't know the brand of my first camera - but it used these awesome flash cubes! Remember that!! You got 4 flashes per cube. Then I got this weird thing with a round film disc.... Ah but then my first True Love... still have it, Minolta X-700. I still get it out once in a while and change the batteries, and take a roll of film pics.
Argus C3. Back in the later 1940s.
Canon AE-1 with a Canon 50mm 1:1.8 lens. It was a graduation present that my dad did not want to get for me. He thought I'd shoot a roll and then put it on the shelf. I did shoot that first roll, and then another. And another ... Got a few more lenses and started buying gray market film rolls a hundred at a time. Persuaded my dad to give me his old Mamiya Press that was sitting on a shelf. Shot a ton of 6cm x 9cm B&W. And then came digital, which reduced my film costs to near zero. Now I can shoot all day long, tinker with the images as much as I like, and store them in the cloud, where I figure they'll be forever whether I want them to or not. What a journey.

WoW , that's a pretty fancy first camera!!! LoL
Mine was a little smallish Kodak brownie-like thing. It was either 120 or 110, can't remember.
I tried to do wildlife with it....., what a disaster that was! LoL
My first 35mm was an Argus C3...., now THAT was a REAL camera!!!!!

My first real camera was a Petri f/2.8 that I bought in Vietnam at the BX. I also bought an 8mm film camera. I have had numerous digital cameras but my first DSLR was a Nikon D7100 with an 18-200 DX lens.
My first camera was a Brownie Hawkeye I received from a family member when I was a Cub Scout. Another family member had ties to Polaroid and gifted several to us for family photos. First SLR was a Miranda Sensomat. Graduated to more serious Nikon and Canon bodies. Traveled heavily with a Rollei 35s. Favorite rangefinder was the Contax G1 w/45mm lens. Currently own an Olympus Pen E-PL5 w/several lenses, a Leica D-Lux, a Leica M6 35mm film camera, and a Ricoh GRII. Also have a Nikon 8008s film body (loved, but not currently in use).
