Shot this after a real hectic 300 kilometer drive to pick up my daughter at the airport from one of her trips. I was on needles and pins and knew that had to unwind ,drove down to the wharf and seen this shot and a few more. Fog was quite thick and it was drizzling . Threw a coat over myself and my camera. Hand held ,no flash .

Oh I love how those white globes are like beacons in that heavy, wet fog. Thank for sharing this eye-catching image!

Trees and fog at Lakewood park: In this photo I wanted a mysterious effect, Usually I avoid having people in my landscape images but the silhouette of the man walking a dog by himself seemed to fit in with the mood of the photo. It was originally in color by I converted it to bw after using "violet dream" effect.

The walkers add interest, Karin, and the line of trees reducing in virtual size as we look from left to right makes a really nice composition IMO. Can't imagine this one not in black & white!

I have been following UHH for at least a year and never commented or submitted an image before. This topic pushed me over the edge. Back in August in Northern Vermont, I got up early (5:30 AM) to catch the sunrise on a pond. Waited an hour and a half till I could see anything but fog! and got these shots. They made the early rise worth it. I was out of my element as I usually shoot in studio! Hope you like them.

1,2 and 5 are my favorites. I enjoy the peaceful past time of kayaking (with my camera).

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I have been just receiving the digest and read it everyday. I have learned a lot from all of you "regulars". I am excited to be part of the discussion. I do mostly portrait work in studio and rarely have I seen that type of image here. Perhaps I will find more of that in the specialty section. I will check it out. I just jumped in on all these great fog images and now I have to back track!

It Is a cellphone picture from my Mother's yard. Right over the hill from me. I did crop some in the phone just before I posted it. Did not notice the barrel.

The other day the guy on the radio said we would have an Indian fog. Im sure that's what he said. He said we would have an Apache fog.

Wow, even a lifeguard in the chair?? Was it warm despite the fog? Can't imagine much fun if not. Thanks for a curious and unique photo, ducwic!

Interesting subject and very pleasant photo, Linda. I'm a night owl, so usually by the time I get up, any fog we might have had has most likely already dissipated. I am occasionally out at night when fog develops, and noticed cones of light penetrating the fog as I approached a local shopping center on my way home from a photography meeting.

I've spent a week in the Smokies in April a few different years. On those occasions I usually manage to be up to shoot the sunrise and have gotten a few nice fog photos such as this one.

Sorry, I can't recall anything I may have done different either when shooting or post processing these photos except probably use somewhat less clarity in ACR than I usually do.
