Fantastic moods; talk about a sense of place! Thanks so much for sharing these, R. And please offer any tips you might have, or challenges regarding these specific shots. Much appreciated!

Seems like a perfect spot to share my favorite poem-don't worry, its short!
"The fog comes on little cat feet.
It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches
and then moves on."
by Carl Sandberg
I did not do much to these other than crop and lessen the color on the first one-the sky was too bright I thought. Other than that just sooc.
I too love the fog. it seems to bring a feeling of peace to me.
I love that poem and those are fine images Linda2.

#3 - the contrasts, the lines, the sepia tones, the interesting details of the brick walkway and the lamp post = winner for me, Karin.
Thanks Linda, I'm glad you enjoyed these aspects.

I live at the confluence of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River and we get a lot of fog here. The other morning I woke up to the sound of fog horns from the ships entering the river from the lake and went to the waterfront and took some pictures.
I like the gull on the railing most.
I have been following UHH for at least a year and never commented or submitted an image before. This topic pushed me over the edge. Back in August in Northern Vermont, I got up early (5:30 AM) to catch the sunrise on a pond. Waited an hour and a half till I could see anything but fog! and got these shots. They made the early rise worth it. I was out of my element as I usually shoot in studio! Hope you like them.
Here are a few
I love shooting in the fog and light drizzel
Shot this after a real hectic 300 kilometer drive to pick up my daughter at the airport from one of her trips. I was on needles and pins and knew that had to unwind ,drove down to the wharf and seen this shot and a few more. Fog was quite thick and it was drizzling . Threw a coat over myself and my camera. Hand held ,no flash .
Trees and fog at Lakewood park: In this photo I wanted a mysterious effect, Usually I avoid having people in my landscape images but the silhouette of the man walking a dog by himself seemed to fit in with the mood of the photo. It was originally in color by I converted it to bw after using "violet dream" effect.

Ruth, I'm so appreciative of your sharing these stunning images! Your results certainly don't indicate any trials or tribulations with the elements, settings, exposure, let alone composition. What a treasure of creativity and beauty.

Exquisite details and mood in #1, Frank. Love the colors too. Would you talk a little about your set-up, exposure and pp on that one?
Thanks so much for participating in the thread!
