I like it when my work evokes an emotional response. I just received this compliment:

"Most of your work seems to be 'hard' (not as hardcore). It feels angry, disturbed in some way.
The link to your image feels like a self portrait that is between self loathing and despair.
My 'interpretation' or opinion is likely off the mark but this is how I interpret many of your posts, especially the composites that try to create a 'new reality' that is dark, a bit 'goth'."

Now I am curious what others think. Will you take some time and look thru my pictures and share with me your opinions? What kind of emotional feelings do you have when you view them? What impression of myself or my models do you have?

Look- you told a story... it isn't a pleasant story, nor a photo of something you'd like to revisit. Neither are photos of dead babies. Not Her fault! She's obviously ok- well kept, in shape... and you shot it ok to tell this "story" but we are left to wonder "why?" Like hitting the 8-Ball on the break- did you call it? Tell me how or where you'd hang this? You seem to have responded positively to the "Hard" "Angry" "Disturbed" description. But those are the same responses to judge someone when they view Rorschach Inkblots... so these descriptions aren't necessarily a complement on cutting edge technique or composition or subject matter. The photo is dark and dingy, she appears to be uncomfortably stuck on the corner of too small a ledge, with a stained wall behind her... looking down and covering herself up... i mean i see stuff like this on the Walking Dead LOL. It's simply depressing on many levels. She is more naked that any of the other nudes I have seen here IMHO- in fact I'd rush to help cover her up and promise not to look while i did it. None of the things I like nudes for. . ... so is it an act or reality.. if its reality- you are invading her space. If make believe- I have to ask for what honest purpose???

So you did that... now go back and make her beautiful and enticing like she obviously is - something she'd can be proud of... I'd much prefer that. Reminds me of the Tim Burton version of batman... it was too foreboding, dark and mean- the Penguin was gross where as Nicholson had the right mix of humor and danger... but then Burton seems to produce everything he does like that- Halloween movie was brilliant, corpse bride... not so much. maybe there is a market for it - but its very tricky... not sure this is in either camp.
