cfbudd, what a pretty horse Please talk about your reasons for the crop, why you feel it improves the image? Or is it that you're just presenting your own interpretation of the scene for our consideration? I'm curious about your thought process. Thanks!

beauty personified !!!!! Perfect day to shoot. And you got the shots... Take out the two birds you put in. That one bird makes the whole picture stand out.

Not much in-depth thinking. The original was good. The darker horses kept taking my eye from what I thought was a beautiful picture by itself. Had I been there and experienced the interaction of subjects and photographer, I might have presented it differently. Who knows?
