Different camera for BIF

I did look, even enlarged it to 200%. That lens is capable of much better.

Hard to get a fast enough shutter speed to stop motion/hand holding blur on a dark, cloudy day. You might up the iso, but then you risk a lot of noise. It's a trade off of one evil for another.
Good light is a photographers best friend.
I have yet to figure out how to get close to water loving birds, since it isn't practical to set up a blind in the middle of a lake/pond.

Think i will get a used 7D faster then SL1 and probably not to expensive and better for birding.
