Our IT guy has been testing since it was released...and he just gave the rest of us (firm of 12 people) the ok to update.
I spoke too soon...we just ran into a bug with Adobe Illustrator that my be OS related.
After upgrading, 99% of software works fine, there was some issues with older software that only worked after they themselves were updated. A cleanup release is due at the end of this month to address any recently found issues with Sierra.
no problems with Aperture working for me . . . Just get those annoying endless Adobe Flash update requests

Thinking of updating but concerned that Aperture won't work thereafter. Any ideas from other updaters?
No worries, it works on my Mac Pro with Aperture just fine. All the apps on my machine are ok and operate properly, even Picasa.
Lightroom 5.7 is working fine with Sierra on my iMac.
A good place to get well informed commentary is Tidbits on nearly everything Macintosh. There are also quite a few Yahoo Groups that are subscribable.
It's a good idea to check what software is, and is not, compatible with any upgrade. Especially if you use a lot of third-party apps. Check here:

I have an IMac 21.5 inch that I bought maybe four or five years ago. Loved it until it started slowing down. Went through all of the updates, memory clean apps, disk doctor, and it just became unreliable.
Bought a Lenovo Win10 touch screen in 2015 since I needed a reliable computer for teaching/work.
I like it, runs fast, once you get over the W10 quirks, it is okay. PS runs well on it and I have large disk and RAM is 8 gb.
Moved the IMac to another room and have been trying to get it to work. I knew the hard drive was the problem. Apple would not let me download Sierra.
So for $100 I bought a external 2 TB drive, download Sierra and presto.
My computer is to life; not as fast as the Lenovo. But that's okay. I have my nice screen back.
When I went to Best Buy to purchase the external drive I looked into getting an internal flash memory drive. BB said they could not install it because of some issue with Apple. So that is why I bought the external. I still have room for more RAM, but Apple doesn't carry it anymore!!!!
But so far my 4gb is okay.

Any pros or cons re: Mac Sierra?
I updated my MacBook Pro to Sierra last week. My Lightroom is crashing at an increasing rate. Last night about 10 times before I gave up and went to bed. I don't seem to have any issues with other applications. Have been afraid to try Photoshop. Maybe adding all the mobile applications to the computer is causing some issues they did not anticipate. Maybe LR needs to update?
Epson P600 Soft Color Printer will not operate with it yet through Photoshop. Checked with Adobe and they say it is a Sierra Problem. Only work around I have found is to export the photo back to Lightroom and then print it. Anyone else have experience with this?

I've subscribed to Tidbits since the very early '90s. Adam and Tanya Engst have made a life out of that newsletter and all their "how to" publications.

Are you using the very latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud Lightroom? It seems to be fine.

Mike, thanks for the follow-up. LR 5.7 is what I am using so based on what you are reporting, I will try it.

Yes, I am using the CC version and it is up to date. Maybe I have other issues?
