I'm still using El Capitan. I like to wait a week or two before I upgrade just in case they might be problems.
Upgraded the husband's last week. Spent an hour on the phone with Apple care because the download didn't install correctly. All is well now.
Windows ten sent me an update for my pc. It is now a paper weight.
I'm reluctantly using Mac El Capitan. Loading it cost me nearly $80 when an app I use frequently turned out, with no warning whatsoever, to be incompatible after the El Capitan "upgrade". Don't use Siri and couldn't care less about gimicky stuff like 'Picture In Picture'. Bottom line: I'm not likely to be in much of a hurry to load Sierra.

Had the same experience with Win10. I reformatted the drive, installed my data from backups, freshly installed my software but only the stuff I actually used, and all is good as well, and I Have a whole lot more drive space.
I changed to Sierra about ten days ago with no issues so far. It's too soon to be certain though.
Thinking of updating but concerned that Aperture won't work thereafter. Any ideas from other updaters?
Did the upgrade.....everything seems to be working fine.
I heard an older version of lightroom won't work with sierra.
I upgraded and still use aperture.. All is fine.....

All is fine here with sierra, but that said, it's not an upgrade that is going to change your world.
First I made sure all my applications had the latest updates. I then updated my Mac to Sierra the day after it was released. It was the smoothest update I ever did on my Mac and everything is running just fine. I can't say the same when I updated to Yosemite and El Capitan. Both of those updates need several re-installs. Most of the problems then involved constantly losing my wi-fi connection.
Aperture works just fine in MacOS Sierra. No fear . . .
ddetloff stated the right way to do a MacOS upgrade. One added step is to do a TimeMachine backup before upgrading "just in case."
No problems with my MacBook Pro!
