You need to pay attention to the small print. Small cars have small profit margins. Many of these cars are exported to other countries. If those cars are manufactured in the US many countries charge 15-35% import taxes. Those same cars manufactured in Mexico have no import tax when shipped to another country. Maybe we need to look at some of our trader policies to get the same treatment as Mexico.

Moving small car production south of the border could actually be good for U. S. workers and the U. S. economy, according to this article.

I don't understand the rationale of the article. If strict regulations in the USA ( or other issue ) make the production of small cars more expensive that could be fixed. It is nice that Ford is not going to fire his employees as they will working in the more expensive cars but, still producing the small car in Mexico does not create jobs in USA. It is not enough to keep our labor force that already is active in place. We need to create more NEW jobs for the young American worker that can't find a job now. Have you hear about the problem with unemployment we have in the country..? You may or may not like Trump but in that subject I do not think he is trying to scare people. I think he is 100% right.

Of course he is. The problem is that he speaks plain english and folks nowadays have been so brainwashed into "newspeak" ala 1984 that they can't even get their minds around a simple concept like; get rid of regulations that hinder US companies, allow them to flourish, they hire folks....unemployment goes down.

It's not difficult really.

Five counties here in WV are considered to be in a depression with up to 36 percent unemployed. Results come from WVU. Maybe someone need to come and explain to us how sending jobs out of the country is good for us. Coal is not used anymore to make steel to make cars in fact to make anything. I guess it don't matter to most until it comes home to your community. Our communities are breaking down before ours eyes WV has the leading cause of death due to drug overdose in the country. Crime is out of control most of us are armed especially in southern WV. Sorry for the rant but we need good jobs here and I am glad the rest of the country is doing great and don't need the jobs. Hillary and Obama told us they would shut down the coal mines and they are doing a great job.

As long as you have the climate change idiots in Washington you will never see any coal being mined. Trump wants to start using American energy sources, I assume that he wants to complete the pipeline which will produce jobs but I don't know if he has any plans for coal. I think it's crazy to have all these sources for oil clean coal and just leave them sitting in the ground while people's lives are torn apart because some idiot thinks the water levels will rise by 1/8" by 2050 or something. Their goal is to destroy this country and this is just one of their tools to do it. They will drive around in limousines, and fly in private jets and sail the seas in enormous yachts that supposedly cause the same problems they are warning us about and expect us to live like cavemen while they soak in the sun. They are hypocrites.

I think you are right; it is not that difficult to mend things. We need someone who talk straight, make the people open their eyes and find out what is going on with our politicians.
Someone who seems to have the guts to make those politicians do what is good for USA not for their bosses or their personal interest. If we really get to think about our choices we will know whom is our best bet.
As you say, for some people is hard to accept the bold truth and they still attached to the old hollow "politically correct" policy adapted by the media and for all the career politicians. Lets hope this time the people that really care for the country will prevail.

reading that article saw another of the b.s. that's dumped on the American people daily. they'll claim that they need cheap labor to make a profit on small cars. stop slamming liberals, i'll bet most of the bosses of the car company's are conservatives.
