Moving small car production south of the border could actually be good for U. S. workers and the U. S. economy, according to this article.

I've been there. Find the most liberal news media to give vague info that sounds good. Replace well paid employee craftsmen with over the border/seas cheap labor.

I don't see how this can be good for America's workforce, I've always been a Ford buyer but this sure makes me think about buying something else. How many Americans are going to lose their jobs because the company wants to up the profit margin? I saw an article about a year ago that said the Toyota vehicles have more parts made in America than any other vehicles. I always said I would never buy a Japanese car but maybe I should rethink that decision.

For my money a Ford truck has always been the one I can rely on , the F-series Pick-Ups and Expeditions . I had an Expedition SUV that had 347,000 miles on it ! Not even a valve tap . Great trucks . But now that they are going to pull the plug on American workers I will spend my money elsewhere .
Typical liberal article here trying to spin things . How can this move be any good if you move the actual job out of here ? Article is a piece of garbage .

Building a plant in Mexico, with cheaper labor and less restrictive laws, will definitely help Ford. However, there could be some truth to the idea that it will allow them to employ more people here making larger vehicles. Time will tell. I wasn't thrilled when I heard that the Honda Fit was being made in Mexico, but we have two in the family with a total of almost 70,000 miles with no problems.

OK , make larger vehicles then . And cancel the plant south of the border and build it in this country .
How I hate the liberal spin .
When Ford and GM pulled out of Edison and Linden NJ it took with them thousands of jobs .
Spin that one .

More Japanese and European cars are now made in the US than so-called American made cars. GM - China Chrysler - Italian company.

If we put jobs south of the border will they still come north? What's the difference if we make parts down south and assemble them here ?

Lets trade jobs that exist for jobs that might happen. Meanwhile Joe Employee gets to feed his family and pay the bills with wages from that might be job that in truth probably is never going to be. They test the waters with the small stuff and pretty soon the SUV and truck production will be in Mexico also. What a smelly load of fish that article is trying to sell.

Mexico and other countries need to be held to the same standard of emissions and pollution control as we are. The rule should be if a country does not meet those standards we will not import anything from them. Bottom line is we need those jobs back here.

The "spin" has been perfected by the Right just as good as it's been done by the Left.

Five counties here in WV are considered to be in a depression with up to 36 percent unemployed. Results come from WVU. Maybe someone need to come and explain to us how sending jobs out of the country is good for us. Coal is not used anymore to make steel to make cars in fact to make anything. I guess it don't matter to most until it comes home to your community. Our communities are breaking down before ours eyes WV has the leading cause of death due to drug overdose in the country. Crime is out of control most of us are armed especially in southern WV. Sorry for the rant but we need good jobs here and I am glad the rest of the country is doing great and don't need the jobs. Hillary and Obama told us they would shut down the coal mines and they are doing a great job.
