Rob, With your particular subject, it would be hard to mess up these pictures. You have a beautiful wife and a great set of portraits. I like all the color shots, but probably #1 the best. However I find myself drawn to the the monochrome, but I'm not sure whether I like it or not; it's different, and she is still beautiful, even perhaps sultry, but........

Well done

As some here know, I purchased the D500 this summer to shoot sports photography and have been thrilled with the results. This camera lived up to all the hype. I wanted to experiment with portrait shots using the 70-200 2.8 lens as the D500 is a backup to my D750. My wife was a willing subject. Fortunately with her I only have to be concerned with composition, camera settings and PP. She does all the posing. Again, I was really pleased with the results. Cropped sensor? Yes, but for these kinds of shots it didn't matter. My "experiment" showed the D500 is no slouch when it comes to portrait work. I've learned a lot from the feedback of UHH members so any comments are welcomed. Have a great week!!

With a lovely looking wife like that, don't see how you could take a bad shot. Like the first photo the best.

A 20MP crop sensor is more than enough for producing excellent portrature, especially with quality optics.

Thanks Bob, we had about 30 minutes. Stepped outside to great lighting. Fun to do and I'm certainly very partial to the subject :)

So appreciate the compliments. Yes I too like the monochrome mostly because it was different. With limited time no change of outfits I just wanted a little different take. My focus was her eyes. She's definitely a natural and not shy around the camera. No doubt my favorite subject! Thanks!
