As some here know, I purchased the D500 this summer to shoot sports photography and have been thrilled with the results. This camera lived up to all the hype. I wanted to experiment with portrait shots using the 70-200 2.8 lens as the D500 is a backup to my D750. My wife was a willing subject. Fortunately with her I only have to be concerned with composition, camera settings and PP. She does all the posing. Again, I was really pleased with the results. Cropped sensor? Yes, but for these kinds of shots it didn't matter. My "experiment" showed the D500 is no slouch when it comes to portrait work. I've learned a lot from the feedback of UHH members so any comments are welcomed. Have a great week!!

Thanks Davyboy. You'd be interested to know while we live in Naples, FL these were shot in MN where I'm originally from. (Wayzata) These were shot in Alexandria at Arrowwood. We were visiting my daughter and also performing for an event. Fun time, beautiful area! I'm with you, I like 1 and 4. Thanks!

Beautiful portraits of a beautiful woman
In the first place, if your wife did the posing without your intervention she did an awesome job. In my humble opinion your best shot is the first one, not saying the others are not good but notice that except for the last one that appears to me like a b&w rendition the colors of the others is on the cyan side, most probably from shooting the model in open shade.
You can salvage those images and if you are using Photoshop, I never used Lightroom, it is very easy to correct the colors using IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>COLOR BALANCE then moving the arrows for red and yellow to taste.
Bouquet is excellent and sharpness is there. All exposures are fine to me.
You did great in portraits. Outstanding images of your beautiful wife. You captured her essence.

Nice looking wife, great camera Rob.
I don't think the camera or the lens had anything to do with these being great portraits ..Tom
I helps to have a model that is photogenic as well as being able to pose and understand what works as model. between the two of you it seems you have chemistry at least on this one endeavor. Well done both of you.
