A: A 14" pizza can feed a family of four....

It is possible, but it is a rare circumstance.

When Rick Wright was at architecture school, his professor told the class that very few of them would succeed at being architects. The best most of them could hope to achieve was designing public toilets for the local city authority. He considered becoming a photographer. Instead he became the keyboardist with Pink Floyd. Story told, but not exactly a guaranteed career path.

Glad you liked it. Came from Gilmour's 2006 tour, and the DVD "Remember that night". Saw them in Oakland. Fabulous. The movie "La Vallee" or "Obscured by Clouds" can still be found, but there are a few quality issues they had to address.

The wall has more visual clues than any other movie they made, probably because they were more mature...

Try to listen to the 'pig album' in a large empty room in the dark....

Were you replying just to the thread in general or to anyone of us specifically?

By 'The Wall' movie, are you referring to the one with Bob Geldof, the Waters' Berlin concert, or something else? By the 'Pig Album' I assume you mean 'Animals', the official title, but if not please clarify.

Lots and lots of concepts and thoughts to play with in this context!

There is only one wall movie... in the context.

This is addressed to the two PF guys.

Yes, animals. I was too lazy to look it up.

Looking back I'll tell you what I should have done and what you should do to make it past 20 years which I could not do as a commercial photographer. #1 Don't get married . #2 Don't own a house. #3 impress people with the best camera & lighting you can buy even if you have to go into hock .Art directors love seeing all shinning things and playing with them. # 4 Get an agent who won't sell the bus. from under you when you start making some money. Find a pretty young woman , dress her in rental furs and send her out to drum up work. Art directors like this to . A high end car rental helps also. Your stidio should be open late so people can come by and hang out, art directors love this to. Make sure the bar is stocked at all times . #5 your studio should be in a high end artsy location . be able to make a better than average photo and you are on your way. Give it a try or not.

Could photography, in any cases become a career that pays well?

I did a career in broadcast television doing videography. A career in that or any other photo business is iffy at best and requires lots of years of work to achieve the ability it requires to make everything work right... in stills or video. If you're serious about this first get some education and have a sheep skin to back that up. If it's still work you want you can free lance but consider that like rock and roll groups, there's one on every street corner so finding a job, especially as a rookey is very difficult and so you'll need another job while you're pursuing your passion. I'm not trying to discourage you but you need to know the facts up front. Don't give up but know that it could take many years to get in. Then staying in is another leap of faith.
Best of luck.

I have to disagree, a 14" pizza is a personal pizza and not enough to feed one person!!!

One day I was at a local pizza joint, and a large format couple came in and sat behind me. This place was well known for its large platter of French fries.
The girl was ordering and said "I'll have a large combo pizza and a large fries(the big platter)". Didn't seem to out of line except her use of the word "I'll".
Then the waitress obviously turned to the guy and said, "and for you sir?".
When he answered, "I'll have the same thing", my eyes brows went way up and my eyes bugged out as I my girlfriend and I looked at each other!!! LoL
I think I know why she was 250lbs and he 350!!!!!!!!!!

That's quite an HDR type of appetite, although possibly not very dynamic!
